Very surprised Soni have turned to RHCP. I'd imagine they're more likely to get them then Foo's, but surely announcing who they're talking to can't be the best way to go about it?

RHCP were ok in 1999 and terrible last time they headlined. If you told me back in 1993 that one day I would leave a Peppers' gig half way through I'd have laughed in your face.

that mock poster is pretty good,ive been messin about with my own next years line up and its effin hard to think of enough decent,varied,sutiable and possible bands to have!.

I know a lot of the line ups is down to competition,whos touring when and where,and the prices the bands cost.So im guesing mine isnt realistic,but anyway!.

I think leeds & reading would book a come back bloc party,but if they wanted to be good they wouldnt,unless bloc party brought out a real hit album tht was actually decent aswell.

My main stage and start of nme stage is:

friday:

KASABIAN or BLUR,noel gallagher,the specials,mgmt,the coral,the flaming lips,jack penate,damien marley,stranglers,graham coxon.

saturday:

Foo Fighters or Beastie Boys,the darkness,korn,wolfmother,no doubt,fun loving criminals,zutons,eagles death metal,gentlemans dub club,beardyman.

Sunday:

Iron Maiden or ac/dc,sytsem of a down,mars volta,iggy and stooges,rancid,willy mason,tame impala,frusciante,king blues.

NME STAGE:

QOTSA,flogging molly,reverand and the makers

Primal scream,carl barat,the drums

The la's or the cure,YETI,the vaccines.

Ive tried to go for bands that havent headliner at all or not much/not in ages. Tried to choose bands who havent appeared in ages or never before.

sunday is the heavier day,also tried to mix the nme headliners as good alternatives to the main stage headliners.

Wasnt to thoughtful of the billing order.

Noel Gallagher won't sub headline, I'd put him 4th from top and no higher but, he'd work better in the tent. Actually, of that Friday is order then it's all wrong! Also, The Cure are huge, they would be nothing less than a headliner.

It's about time this festival got off its arse, and sorted itself out.

It's got two choices

a) go against theses silly "they'll never play that low" etc, etc comments....

or

Think outside the box a bit more.

Putting more boring shit like Bloc Party (how many times have they played already!) as headliner, isn't really an option.

Just to ask, should SOAD play next eyar, is it headline guaranteed?

And I ask that because, obvs at Download its the main demographics for them, eg. deftones play 2nd there, 5th at R+L. Also, the big demand for them back has been done and people who wanted a ticket has easily more than enough chance at download to go and see them.
