If Foo Fighters are booked then that'll be brilliant for me. Saw them for the first time on Sunday at Milton Keynes Bowl and was absolutely blown away! Foo Fighters aren't my favourite band at all but that was the joint best gig I've ever been to. They even got out Butch Vig on stage as well as performing with Bob Mould, Seasick Steve and John Paul Jones. If they played Reading next year and played half as good as on Sunday I'd still love it! :)

I don't think it's a case of being a Glastonbury band, Muse suit R&L and Coldplay don't regardless of whatever other festivals they do. And yeah, Chase & Status headlining the tent is probably a realistic shout.

I don't think Avenged would do anything less than sub/headline a tent. Would be utter mayhem in a tent.

Also, Would You me at six not be higher up? Their new album is just going to push them higher up that lineup. I'd even go as far to say they may be big enough to headline the tent, much as i hate to admit it.

Primal scream look too low to me?

Isnt that the same position Gaslight anthem played last year?

I can't see Feeder headlining the tent, Or all time low even existing next year given their last album...

Bloc Party - Can't see not headlining, nme headline, 3rd top and two 2nd tops.

Florence + The Machine

Primal Scream

Foals

Bombay Bicycle Club

The Subways - 2nd nme imo but could

R1/NME

Chase & Status

The Courteeners

Magnetic Man

------------

Reading Sat:

Main

Daft Punk (wishful thinking more than anything else) - would be nice but kasabian here

The Prodigy

Mumford & Sons - could maybe play 2nd by this time

The Cribs

The Gaslight Anthem

Jamie T

Kids In Glass Houses

R1/NME

R1/NME

Justice

The Macabees

Viva Brother

Realistic or not?

ah i saw them on the saturday, was a decent gig but we had the biggest pr*cks ever next to us so it sorta ruined it. he brought out alice cooper which was immense.

would be a solid booking, however it would be the same circumstances as muse this year, where they have played everywhere and would be uninspired in that sense (even though they would play a solid set)

Ah yeah I've heard that the Saturday was pretty rough in terms of the people :/ and yeah I agree that it would be uninspired and predictable but I think that FR will bring a better Foo Fighter's experience than other festivals if that makes sense? As in they got less than an hour and a half at IOW, which doesn't give them time to perform to there best. Also Biffy were superb on Sunday! Loving the new song :)

Pretty realistic (if a bit predictable), I'd normally say that Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Vampire Weekend would be too big for the tent but I think the size of it is increasing this year so may be possible. I'd also say QOTSA are unlikely to sub three years out of six.

Just an idea but does anyone think that Tim Minchin could possibly play a bigger stage in the future? Sonisphere have Bill Bailey headlining their second stage this year, and i'm sure mr Minchin would find a fair amount of appeal with the R+L crowd

Chase & Status could headline NME there. Kanye West is pretty huge, would he do anything other than headline? Same goes for Kasabian. However; I'd like to think that next year will be big and we could have headliner sized acts subbing with somebody bigger headlining.

    • Interesting to read. It's mostly why we stopped going a few years back even though it's the nearest big festival to home. The post-exams timing and location makes it a rites of passage first festival for people in a big area. Understandably that leads to a bit of giddiness. Think lineup would need to be a lot more my cup of tea to be enticed back. Friends who are there are having a good time tho and no rain is a good thing for up there.
    • I honestly didn't know it had, I still thought it was where the view overlooked the lake and view.   I think my decision not to attend this year at least was justified. Biffy was the big draw but after Finsbury I knew they wouldn't play what I want to hear again and well work also got in the way. Believed interesting to hear if Libertines were any good as they were also a pull but Sunday did nothing for me really with all my acts on Friday and Saturday.
