Anywhere but the pyramid for them I hope, I agree that they were overawed by the size of the stage and crowd and as a result they were quite disappointing in the end I thought, would love to see them play the park but as you say they're too big for that.

I don't think the scheduling helped with the other bands around them helped. Wasn't it NERD who were on after them (who turned up half an hour late, were delusional enough to think that the entire Glasto population were there for them and were utterly dreadful...)? I think the kind of people that stay at the Pyramid all day/got their early for NERD - generally speaking at least - aren't likely to be FF fans and would've probably switched off during their set. It was a similar atmosphere for Crosby, Stills and Nash - I thought they were very good but again, got a very indifferent reaction.

They were good in 2009 - but got a muted reaction from a 4pm Pyramid crowd and were possibly a bit overawed by the size of the stage. Despite that, they're too big for The Park and possibly the JP tent too - I could see them getting a similar Pyramid or a sunset Other slot.

I really enjoyed their set in 09. It was a beautifully sunny afternoon in the Pyramid field and their music wafting overhead was just what I wanted! Very much like CSN's set in that respect.

I think it depends what you were after. I'm very willing to suggest I may have been in the minority that wanted to lay back in the sun, relax, and soak up the music and cider.

New song sounds good too.

I love them, think they're fantastic, really amazing, but short of sitting around a campfire with them, I'm not sure I want to see them live again. Some of my favourite albums of the last few years (FF, Bon Iver, Bright Eyes) haven't, for me, translated well to live gigs. It's too personal, too intimate. Dunno what the answer is though. Only band I've seen carry it off really well have been the Low Anthem, at that was only at small venues. It's all hearstoppingly beautiful, but it's not built for big stages, I think.
