Well what a load of shite that was last night. Not even a catch up to remind you of what happened before it took a break for about half a year. A very poor episode all in all, hopefully it will get better.

The very first episode is my favourite too. I know it's cheesy but I love it when he picks her up in the club then drives her round in the stolen car and accepts her messed up crazy family from day one. I bet those two aren't even in it anymore are they? That guy has gone on to appear in some pretty decent films too, he's done rather well for himself.

I always had a soft spot for karon too, the filthy cow lol.

i wasn't too impressed with this week's episode. because they split the series into two, i couldn't remember what had happened in the first part.

they don't seem to have proper storylines anymore. it's just really shit comedy, and any attempt at a serious storyline never really seems to work.

So this weeks had Marty (Veronica's arsonist brother) back in it and next week it's the 100th episode and Kev is making a re-appearance. they're clutching at straws now and even worse Mickey Maguire is leaving. It's lost the plot entirely, no serious stories, no serious characters and it's not even funny anymore. Considering how good it was it's been completely ruined.

I think shameless has probably had its day. The best serious and funny characters have mainly all gone. If they are going to continue, they should massively cut the series length and go for quality not quantity.

Did anyone see this weeks episode?

The best episode I have seen in ages! Two of the storylines featured were superb and fantastically acted out with the lad who plays Aiden really stepping up and delivering in what I consider to be his first major storyline. The last scene with his mother was brilliant.

Absoloutely loved the scene with Mimi in the pub with her family listing all the times she had been there for her children and their partners. Her acceptance of Shane's wife was a really nice touch, added depth to Mimi's characracter i thought.

There was a funny little line from Frank when they were all discussing surviving on benefits and whoever brings in the money was excepted were he laughed to Carl and said,''Just like old times.''

The thing i came away thinking though was how in my opinion the show's star is now Mickey. He's a fantastic character with so many levels. His understanding of the situation with Shane's wife and Marty, the way he was there to help Marty, the way he was defending his mother's honour at the dinner table about her pregnancy by the underage boy.Just a fantastic character and yet still hilarious.

And oh my god but is it me or did Mimi let the cat out of the bag in that bar scene with the family about them all knowing he's gay?!?!?!?!?!That's huge and was a shock!

This week was definately alot better. Marty is a greta character and I'm glad he's back in it. On a whole the episode was more serious than the usual slapstick of late and was alot better for it.

Mickey is easily the best character in it, he can do drama and comedy equally brilliantly.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
