New Blur Album

I'd be interested to see how Blur could fit into the lineup somewhere? I'm well aware they headlined only 2 minutes ago, however new material would mean there is more than enough demand for them somewhere across the bill in a secret capacity?

What do you think, even though i'm inclined to suggest it's very unlikely!

On the plus side, new Blur material would be fantastic.

They haven't said they're doing an album and Damon's got his next Opera in 2011 so I doubt very much Blur will do any gigs. Damon said they were meeting up to do something small in January and Graham said that there's only Private Blur going on, not Public Blur - so my guess would be an EP.

I could see Damon doing one of his projects on the Park Stage secret slot. Either a stripped down Gorillaz (which would go down better off the main stage) or Blur.

Listening to Blur as i type this. Every time I hear them now it just makes me smile the widest smile in the world. Them playing again somehow just wouldn't be right, I think my memory just needs to stay untainted.

I really really hope they never play again. They will never top the performance in 2009 so why even try.

I'd much prefer Damon to come and do a set with The Good, The Bad and The Queen but I think that's unlikely.

if they were to make a new full album it'll be all down to how good the new material is...if they feel they have something great then you'd think they would push the boat out and go for it otherwise they will do something more low key which will still satisfy the fans.

damon doesnt want blur to become the pressure cooker it once was again and who can blame him...its amazing enough that they are going to be releasing new material. hes being clever in playing it all down as its not putting the full weight of the media and expectations on theyre back.

to summarise if its a full album they'll probably go on tour again and play leeds/reading and other uk festies but i cant imagine ever doing glasto again...if its a low key release then i imagine they wont bother playing it out at all.

so heres hoping the magic will be there when the regroup cos it might mean we'll get to see them again...not necessary at glasto but somewhere.
