Sorry if he's been suggested / ruled out before, but could Adam Ant be a possibility? Maybe a bit risky, but I can't think of many bands playing festivals this summer who would tie-in with the fancy dress theme much better...

He was due to play Rebellion festival and a week later he changed his mind and cancelled not the most reliable booking and his tour was of tiny venues that didn't even sell out.

The Pretenders swiftly followed by Garbage have just come on shuffle, no idea if either would be viable or even touring (I think I read Garbage were planning on touring this year though) but both fit the criteria to a certain extent I would say.

The Cure have some hardcore fans. I don't think I've ever been to a festival for one act on the bill (well, other than things like Wireless and HRC but they're not the same). I admire your devotion and hope they make it a worthwhile trip, I'm sure they will! Also sure you'll find plenty of other good stuff to see and do to make it even better!

Take That has to be the worst suggestion so far. I wouldn't have paid for a Bestival ticket if I wanted to see 40 year old shirtless men dancing around singing pop music. And Girls Aloud are only marginally better.

Bestival has a demographic, and Take That are far from it. 99% of avid Take That fans are 13-16 year old girls or older women with questionable mental ages. I like to think Bestival has a standard, and doesn't want to take the same path V festival did (from indie festival to cheesy pop music).

It wouldn't be a good booking, it would turn the festival into a laughing stock

& UK festival exclusive to R1BW.

Who the hell is left!!!???

The Darkness? Thinking Justin was a bit of a diva, waiting for after Download performance. Can't see it myself, just a suggestion. Or could I?

    • Muse will be about but the issue with Muse is that they’ll have the pick of doing IOW, BST, Glasto, R&L or big parks/stadiums.

    • Not sure what this means for 2027 but it looks like Holt Farm's website and email are both now inactive and unavailable.   It'll be a shame if they don't operate for 2027 as it was an excellent alternative to the other off-site offerings.   Fingers crossed they're just enjoying their downtime 🤞
    • Deftones, Blink, Muse?   Deftones as the next bump up makes all the sense, Blink as the "band that has never played before" and round out with Muse as its been a long time since they headlined and they have a new album coming which seems on the heavier side from the singles so far.   I could see Muse do their own tour to be fair, maybe MCR in their place? Could also see Deftones switched out for Slipknot/SOAD depending on who is about.
    • I have no issue with the Primavera crowd in most respects. They’re always friendly, respectful and no hint that there could be trouble at any point.   However…the talking is horrific here. The xx was pretty much ruined for me due to people having conversations with their mates the whole way through. Noticed it from all different nationalities across the weekend…English, Irish, Spanish etc. There seems to be no understanding of the nuances of when it’s okay to talk and when it isn’t. And obviously the sound being quiet at a lot of spots on the main stages exacerbates the issue. That alone has made me reconsider whether I will be coming back, it would probably take a lineup as good as this year (unlikely)
