I did both this year! Now i am skint! Went to LA ans Vegas in September , saving grace was that we stayed with the wifes relatives in the valley. Did all the tourist bits and saw the American way of life. One tip though don't go mad in Vegas on the tables, if you do , take a LOT of money! Go to Freemont st experience, brilliant night out. On reflection i had a really lucky year of it weather wise what with Glasto being so hot and then to visit the sunshine state as well. Why do you have to go in the same week as Glasto, or is it an either or thing. If it'd down to expense then do Glasto and then do LA next year when there is a year off.

Come to Glastonbury and I will recreate the Vegas experience for you by taking all your money off you in a game of Texas Holdem and then get some prostitutes to rob your wallet.

Best of both worlds

Also the hill of death is not much different to the Grand Canyon anyway
