Their Greatest Hits album is pretty damn good however you might argue this band being "not nirvana". I would be reasonably happy if they headlined however i'm hoping they don't end up on the revolving turntable of headliners (Muse, Green Day, Killers, KOL) aka making me pretty bored.

They've not played any festivals since 07 when they played V and T I think. When was the last time they played Glasto? Granted Dave played with Them Crooked Vultures at a number of festivals, however 4 years since FF played any kind of festival, and who knows how long since Glasto means they could definitely be strong contenders.

You're right it's been a few years but before that it was just a merry-go-round. They've been replaced by Kings of Leon.

They're perfectly competent headliners, they're just quite boring along with basically every other name that's been mentioned apart from Prince and Elbow.

Nothing on the past two years so far.

Stadium rock-tastic-U2, Coldplay, Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters, Prince all being mentioned

They can all share the same firework set up, oiled bit for knee and slides walkway into the middle of the crowd

It's gonna be Live Aid 3 : Even Liver!

Spot on. All the bands who realistically would be offered a headline slot are boring as hell at the moment.

I'll give you Elbow and Prince though. And how about Arcade Fire on the saturday?

Fri: Elbow

Sat: Arcade Fire

Sun: Prince

That looks rather pleasant to me.

Oh they are undoubtedly strong contenders. I am pretty much resigned to the fact they will be headlining one of the nights.

The fact remains true though: they are utter bland shite and dave grohl is an appalling drummer.

They make kings of leon look like led zep.
