The Detours were together in the early 60s. Once Keith Moon joined them they became The Who in 1964, briefly changed their name to The High Numbers for one single then back to The Who again.

So the next major milestone will be a 50th anniversary in 2014. Bank on them being invited back then I'd say.

I'd rather have The Who there than Prince. Then again, i'm not overly familiar with Prince's stuff. If Prince does turn out to be one of the headliners i really need to do some catching up.

Pretty sure the dates don;t stack up as stated above. I wasn;t there in 2007 but was at the last gig of their tour that year (or maybe 2008) and they were amazing. Tight as a drum and Daltry rocked better than a bloke half his age. Only downside was 20minutes of indulgence from a new TOwnsend Rock Opera that we could have done without. They had done an hour and 20, went off for 5 mins and came back.....Daltry grabbed the mike and said..."Some people call this an encore.....we call that a break" and went on for another hour or so. Not headliners anymore IMHO but great in the Sunday afternoon slot.....

it wasn't that bad. The conditions were as shitty as I've ever endured at any performance, ever. The fact that as many punters stayed must be a testament to something. Townshend was amazing.
