Actually I think you will find a lot of hippies are now techno hippies and many have wireless in their vans!

Most of us are just festival goers. The hippies live in Glastonbury and just go to hippie meetings at the tor every 8pm on wednesday, they talk about acid and pot mostly. I KNOW I LIVE THERE!

A lot of the regular hippis that have been going for years and know Eavis since the 70s. They either have some role to play within the festival, or ME makes sure they have a chance/ know about ticket day...I always see regular faces and wonder how on earth they managed it...They help each other man x

Hi, I class myself as a hippie and if I peddle fast enough I can get my PC to work for a little while. Long enough to get a ticket yesterday. I do not smell I have a bath after every Glastonbury. I used to have long hair but now afraid not. I still believe that Love is the answer, BUT, sometimes it is difficult with the attitude of some people today. One thing that happened yesterday that really made me happy was the amount of people helping each other get tickets. Thats Love.

I doubt many "true" hippies exist these days anyway - it's become a commodified lifestyle choice IMO, easy to buy the trappings, but very few people are prepared to actually make the effort to go the distance.

Besides, the hippies got it all wrong....they had an international movement which could have made vast social changes, but they all retreated into the mountains and smoked themselves silly - not that there's a problem with that

There were only 1,500 hippies at the first Glastonbury festival, probably same number these days, it's just there are an additional 183,500 people swelling the crowd.
