wow, blown.out.of.proportion.

Everyone should chill out! It's a forum about something everyone is excited for, yet people are getting all pi$$y and acting in a bloody immature manner. I'm new to it all, but I'm guessing the intention of this forum isn't for people to feel alienated and offended, be that by other posters, or by a moderator!

Also, use of the word sexism insinuates prejudice or stereotyping, when said pictures I believe do not have content which clearly does either, which makes that terminology void in the argument.

On a brighter note, the weather forecasts in general look better, but either way, I'll be enjoying myself if I'm soaking wet or baking hot.

I don't get who those pictures are meant to be degrading to? Forgive me if i'm wrong, but it can't be those women or they wouldn't have got them out? I can see why some people wouldn't like looking at those kind of pictures, but it's not about degrading those women at all? I think it's just a joke that got out of hand and there's no longer any

NFRNFC

like there should be...come on, it's going to be sunny and very hot and we're going to get burnt from el scorchio!!

ITS A WEEK TODAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! :D:D:D

I'm arguing a point in a civilised manner, yet you insist on firing off personal insults at me. Calling people "small minded arseholes" when they've politely disagreed with you is frankly pathetic behaviour.

You banned someone for calling you a c**t, yet when you're the admin you're more than free to fire off personal insults to all who disagree with you, right? I'm not going to stoop down to your level thanks.

If you knew even a tiny bit about me, you'd know "small minded" is pretty much the last thing I am.

Posting pictures of women in beachwear isn't really particularly degrading, is it? They're all things most women would happily wear in public - the only exception being those pictures of women wearing only body paint (though I daresay we'll probably see some of those at Glastonbury). Pictures of women in beachwear are seen everywhere - they're used to advertise things, they're in magazines (and not just FHM/Nuts), many female friends of mine have pictures of them in beachwear as their Facebook profile picture. That indicates that society doesn't really see pictures of women in beachwear up as being degrading.

Society certainly would see genuine racism or homophobia as degrading however. Or, for that matter, genuine sexism. Something which you seem to have trouble differentiating from a few members posting a few pictures.

you're welcome to see it like that. Yet you're also able to see the posts in here from more than me saying that you're wrong and which say you're not as reasonable as you wish to believe. And given that I share that view, then I'm not able to see your words as the "civilised" you believe them as but as Neanderthal at best.

If we want to take what goes on within the rest of society as the benchmark, then full blown hardcore porn is no less acceptable than anything posted in this thread, which is a plainly ridiculous way to go.

While pictures of scantily clad women might have a proper place, as yet you or no one else has been able to justify how their proper place is in a thread about what the weather will be next week - tho some of those who posted them have now recognised for themselves that they have no place here. The simple fact is that the pictures being posted here were being posted for sexist reasons and nothing else. So give me that justification for how I'm wrong or recognise yourself that you're wrong.

Your one view is just your one view. There are other opposing views - as demonstrated by some posts in this thread, and the complaints I've received by females who don't wish to offer themselves up as a sacrifice to your small minded and distinctly male viewpoint, and the ridicule they fear they'd suffer if they posted to tell you you're wrong. They are already feeling bullied by the 'male club' that's operated in this thread. Why do you think I should be siding with the bullies against those females?

As I've said, I don't expect perfection. Whatever my own views might be on this subject and others, I'm able to recognise that the rest of the world operates in different ways at times - and I'm not into banging my head against what I consider to be a brick wall of ignorance continually. Yet all the same, when things go as far as they were going in this thread, and two days of asking for it to stop has had no effect, do I allow the sexism to run riot or do I show those other views some deserved respect? From where I'm sat, there's only one answer.

As for you saying "a few members posting a few pictures", you've just shown just how small minded you are - or is it just very very stupid? It certainly wasn't "a few" people or pictures. It was constant, and completely unnecessary. As well as more too.

If I've got it wrong then please do tell me what place those pictures had here in this thread at the rate they were being posted, and what they've got to do with the weather.

THIS IS STILL GOING ON? You stated a few hours ago that you had better things to do but you're still arguing with strangers on the internet? You banned someone for using the c word yet are dishing out similar insults willy nilly? You're derailing the most active and largely followed thread ON YOUR OWN FORUM continuosly, even when people try to get it back on track?

My god, man, get a grip. I don't like to get into internet arguments, but jesus you're annoying. Probably get banned for this eh.

If you don't like it, just f**k off, eh? That way you get to ban yourself.

These forums are operated for the benefit of everyone that might wish to use them, not just the small minded who wish to have all of their own desires fulfilled while not giving a f**k about the desires of others for something better than this thread has become.

I'm not going to allow you or anyone else to bully me from trying to get things onto a reasonable level.

No, it's simply me making sure it finishes here and now.

If that requires me to keep posting back against others comments, then that's what is going to happen.

You trying to ridicule me doing the respectful thing isn't helping. The smarter minds have grasped that already.

Avoiding the childish and pointless debate and getting back to the important business of the weather, TWO are fairly well respected and I'd take that forecast TBH. Cooler temps I can live with as long as it's dry. The amount of rain in the run up is a worry though as the site could well be muddy and churned before all the foot traffic arrives.

Still, I'm staying positive and there's enough highs around on the GFS data that one could swing in and change the game. Also, GFS shows no more than light showers over the full 5 days. By Sunday we should have a clearer idea.

Devonhammer, RIP.

I'm not questioning your morals, I'm questioning your tact in preaching them. Sometimes it's better to sit on the sidelines after showing your cards than desperately trying to lay down an ace at everybody who doesn't call your bluff.

Also, using words like 'ridicule' followed by a slice of condescension doesn't really do much for your noble cause. It's not me who has exposed their burning emotions in this noble plight. You saying I've ridiculed you doesn't entail that I have ridiculed you.

you're ridiculing the reasonable view I'm trying to get across by saying it's unnecessary to get across that reasonable view.

Yet the very fact that requests over two days that it stops had very little effect shows that it is necessary. It's necessary until such time as everyone has got it that such things are not acceptable on these forums.

If that means I have to take further steps to hammer that home then I will do.

    • As usual, despite some issues I had a blast and will be back next year because they keep delivering incredible lineups. My top 10:  mbv The Cure Viagra Boys Kneecap Little Simz The xx Geese Blood Orange Big Thief Rilo Kiley The top 3 are interchangeable as all 3 were 10/10 sets for me. I'd guess Massive Attack would've been in my top 5, so, naively I'll hope they're on the 2027 poster lol. 5th time's the charm, eh?
    • Right, I know this is going to divide opinion more than a secret set announcement, but it’s time we settled the most important question in festival history: What is the best sauce?   I’ve spent years researching this. Years. Countless meals. Countless food stalls. Countless chips consumed in fields while standing in a queue for a toilet that looked like it had survived several geological eras. And after all that, I still find myself returning to the same question.   Is it ketchup? No. Not like him.   Is it mayonnaise? No. Not like him.   Is it garlic mayo? Closer. But not like him.   Is it sweet chilli? A respectable contender. Yet still not like him.   Is it curry sauce? Potentially. But also not like him.   The turning point in my sauce journey came at Glastonbury. Specifically, near the legendary Goan fish curry stall. There I was, covered in approximately six different layers of dust, sunscreen, and regret, enjoying one of the greatest festival meals ever created. The sauce situation was immaculate. Balanced. Complex. Life-affirming.   Meanwhile, nearby, I witnessed something that permanently altered my understanding of both festivals and humanity.   A man was watching Slowdive with a crutch up his bum.   Not metaphorically. Not spiritually. Not artistically.   Actually standing there, watching Slowdive, with a crutch up his bum. And as I looked at him, silhouetted against the evening sky while dreamy guitars echoed across the field, I realised something important. The best sauce should aspire to greatness. Not like him. It should bring people together. Not like him. It should enhance the experience. Not like him. It should complement the main event. Not like him. It should be memorable. Though admittedly, like him. But preferably not like him.   This brings me to the Bucket Classification System.   For those unfamiliar, sauces can be divided into three categories.   Bucket I. Bucket I is the elite tier. The headliners. The sauces that could close the Pyramid Stage on a Sunday night and nobody would complain. These are sauces that elevate food beyond its natural limitations. A good garlic mayo belongs in Bucket I. A properly executed festival curry sauce belongs in Bucket I. Certain chilli sauces belong in Bucket I. The sauce equivalent of arriving at your tent and discovering someone has actually put it up correctly. Not like him.   Bucket II. Bucket II is respectable. Reliable. Dependable. Not spectacular, but solid. This is where standard ketchup often lives. A decent BBQ sauce. A reasonable burger sauce. The sort of sauces that show up, do their job, and go home. Unlike him. Not like him. Very much not like him.   Bucket III. Now we enter dangerous territory. Bucket III is where disappointing sauces go. Watery sauces. Sauces that taste vaguely of administrative errors. Sauces that appear to have been diluted with rainwater collected from a collapsed gazebo. The sauces that make you question your choices. The sauces that look at a perfectly good portion of chips and think, “How can I make this worse?” Like the butter chicken sauce I got served at the We Are Stupid Dosas stand. Or the sizzling beef burrito served with potato wedge sauce. These belong in Bucket III. Not like him. Although possibly exactly like him. It’s difficult to say.   I think the real test of a sauce is whether you’d cross a festival site specifically to get it. Would you leave your friends? Would you miss part of a set? Would you navigate through crowds of people dressed as bananas, pirates, and traffic cones? Would you walk from one side of the site to the other? If the answer is yes, then we’re talking Bucket I territory. If the answer is maybe, we’re looking at Bucket II. If the answer is no, straight into Bucket III. No appeal. No review process. No exceptions. Not like him.   I return often to that moment at the Goan fish curry stall. The food. The atmosphere. The music. The philosophical questions. The mysterious Slowdive spectator. Some people search for meaning in books. Some search for meaning in religion. Some search for meaning in art. I search for meaning in sauce rankings. Not like him.   And every year the evidence grows. Every year Bucket I becomes more refined. Every year Bucket II becomes more competitive. Every year Bucket III becomes more crowded.   And every year I remember the man watching Slowdive with a crutch up his bum and remind myself that while festival experiences may vary wildly, good sauce remains eternal.   Not like him. Not like him. Not like him. Not like him. Not like him. Not like him. Not like him. Not like him. Not like him. Not like him. Not like him. Not like him. Not like him. Not like him. Not like him. Not like him. Not like him. Not like him. Not like him. Not like him.   So my current rankings are: Bucket I: Garlic mayo Proper curry sauce Premium chilli sauce Exceptional festival-exclusive mystery sauces   Bucket II: Ketchup BBQ sauce Burger sauce Sweet chilli   Bucket III: The watery unidentified substances occasionally found beside chips Anything described as “light” but tasting of sadness Any sauce that somehow makes food drier Sizzling beef burrito     Debate below. And before anyone asks: no, the crutch was not a sauce. At least I hope not. Not like him.
    • Now we're over for another year - headliner predictions time: Phoebe Bridgers Rosalia Bjork Doechii The Strokes Tame Impala Massive Attack   And the reunion band: Boards of Canada
    • €245->275 + fees early bird for 2025 ticket holders €265->295 + fees for non-2025 ticket holders My guess is they add a lot (another 30 euros) but keep it under 300 for the optics.
