Yeah yeah I know you can still have a good time, playing/shagging in the mud etc but frankly I can't be arsed.

If that comment re: shagging in the mud is aimed at me because of my previous comment I would like to point out that it would take a very special woman to encourage me to indulge in such mud based fornication.

I certainly don't want to be getting a reputation amoung you good people!

As much as it pains me to say it but......if its looking like 2007 I'm bailing.

I'll wait until the tuesday before hand to decided but I'd rather kiss gooodbye to £200 and pay that anyway to spend 5 days wanding around looking at a sorry arse site covered in chocolate moose with my legs aching and desperate to find somehwere, anywhere, out of the rain to sit down.

There I've said it.

I don't know why everyone's gone so negative. Which models are so bad? GFS is OK, ensembles are OK, TWO, Meteo and Meteox are OK. No-ones predicting a wash-out.

Which models are all these bad predictions coming from?

When I first came here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to use a chair on a swamp, but I sat down all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I bought a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I bought a third. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp...

Chillax... it's not got to that point... As the two chaps who understand a bit more of the weather patterns than most of us say, it's not all doom and gloom at present.

I too was there in 2007, of course it was bad. But i also left that year thinking to myself, "it can never be as bad as that again..." and i'm sticking by that. :)

it's not so much the weather during the festival that decides how much of a mud-bath it might be, but the weather beforehand.

Although the ground has been exceedingly dry until a week or two ago, it's now looking like the ground will pretty wet by the time the gates open - so it then only needs a reasonable amount of rain during the fest for things to turn horrible.

The one saving grace right now is that rain is only forecast for the Wednesday, and in my experience weather forecasts for that long in the future have a more than decent chance or arriving earlier than is currently forecast - so with a bit of luck the rain that's currently forecast for opening day might arrive the day before, and have a chance to drain a little before thousands of feet start churning the ground. Fingers crossed.

Mixed thoughts on all of this.

A repeat of last year is looking rather unlikely - teh last decent Summer was back in 2006 so it's getting to tthe stage wehre I need to except that was abnormal, rather than the chilly, overcasts ones we've suffered since.

The current weather is poor - yesterday felt more like October than the Sunmmer.

That said, we're now getting what can be described as reasonably reliable/accurate forecasats for the 1st time with us being just over a week away. As has been discussed here, those forecasts are actually alright. Sure they're not rain free but other than last year, none of the last 6 festivals have been rain free.

I very much hope that we're looking at a repeat of 2009 or 2008. I honestly don't think we're currently looking at 2007/2005.

Hello! We paid the site a visit on Sat - before the torrential rain on Sunday. Very very wet and muddy. Don't leave your wellies in the car!

think i may invest in some new wellies, ponchos and a hoodie.

i'd be fine if it only rained weds. would dry up a bit by the end of the weekend and campsite wouldnt be too muddy so can sit down.

it's my hair i'd worry about - frizzy mess from day one! haha

i'm staying positive!
