I rode a Segway for the first time today. It p1ssed it down the whole time and the wind made it feel like the middle of winter! Only just getting the feeling back in my hands....

That's my sacrifice to the weather gods done!

yer not the only person who thinks it! :) ive done my share of m*d baths over the years, i dont enjoy em, thats all there is to it. no amont of but its glastonbury will change that. i do not enjoy and cannot enjoy a mudfest. IF, and its still a long way away yet, it was to be a very wet weekend i would probably just go downn for the fri - sun, but i am working so dont have that option.

and its not going to happen hopefully!

but its been so good in recent years, just one more year of decent weather would be fantastic :)

People people people, with a slightly positive out look on what the weather may or may not be we need to pick this positivity up. Lets not moan about what rain might be but reveal in what sun will bring. NFR NFC!!

You have to pray (for want of a better word? ) for good weather.

Almost chant like 'It will be sunny at Glastonbury, there will be no clouds'.

You have to say it, you have to believe, you do believe it, it will happen.

And not only say it, but imagine it being that way. Banish all thought of the negative, banish all thought of that 'r' word, think only of good weather, sunny weather, hot weather ...

We can, and will, make it happen x Peace x :)

this is the event outlook from netweather which is not bad, not too many more cats have to die to get this looking much better:

21st - 25th June: This period sees a more unsettled spell of weather for all parts with low pressure centred in the North Sea sustaining cool northerly or north-easterly winds. Temperatures close to average or just below in the south, below average further north. Rainfall amounts in the south likely to be small however.

26th June - 30th June: Still unsettled, but becoming warmer in the south with less in the way of cloud, wind and rain. Showers still possible however and cool in the north.

Respect and all that for your stamina, but I'm sure I'm a fair bit older than you. I managed to enjoy (just about mind!!) both of the mudbaths of 1997 and 1998. Only by consuming insane amounts of cider, ale and weed those years -- and even then both years were a struggle.

My mate Graham has only ever been to those notorious mudbaths of Glastos 1997 and 1998. Never before, never since.

2007 however? Worst. Mudbath. Ever. Way exceeded the above two years in awfulness.

Get perspective people. NFR NFC.

I'm trying to be optimistic about this - 2007 was my first ever Glasto and I went on my own with my nine year old son...it was grim beyond grim, but I console myself that the odds of it being that bad again are really quite slim, and if I managed it then, I can easily do it again.

It CANNOT rain that much anymore. It WILL stop and we WILL have a glorious few days' respite. I am sure of it. :)

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
