NFRNFC hopes as usual but...

Direct from the MET office: For Friday 17th to Sunday 26th of June 2011

Some sunny periods between showery outbreaks. It will be windy at times in most areas, with a risk of gales towards the southwest. It remains changeable through the rest of next weekend and the following week with further showers or rain in many parts, but also some drier and brighter periods, these most likely in the south and southeast of the UK by the middle of the week. Temperatures generally below average for June but may be around or just above average in the east.

this is the event outlook from netweather which is not bad, not too many more cats have to die to get this looking much better:

21st - 25th June: This period sees a more unsettled spell of weather for all parts with low pressure centred in the North Sea sustaining cool northerly or north-easterly winds. Temperatures close to average or just below in the south, below average further north. Rainfall amounts in the south likely to be small however.

26th June - 30th June: Still unsettled, but becoming warmer in the south with less in the way of cloud, wind and rain. Showers still possible however and cool in the north.

"Summary

Ensembles do seem to be indicating rising pressure at the start of the festival, and the runs that are unsettled, look damp rather than wet, so on today's runs 5, with no indication either way of a wet or dry festival.

Overall though there is still a slight indications of a damp festival, so I will stay at a 6 on the scale of 0= dust bowl, 10= washout.

However, there are reasons to be cautiously optimistic at the moment. "

I was camping this weekend and took our tents down in torrential rain this morning. We eventually got into the car soaked through, freezing cold, and covered in mud and bits of grass and twig. I felt completely traumatised. It really reminded me why it must be sunny!

becasue a 6 is good, as he gave us yesterday, but given the better runs since then we may have got a 7. However he has as you can see stuck with a 6 so things are looking more settled and maybe better tomorrow. We need these highs to get stick around and get stuck in.

    • was happy to swerve the main stages on Saturday, but thought it was fine for The Cure, we just went down the opposite side & got a decent spot close to the front, everyone into it (admittedly a bit off to the side)   a festival that now books Olivia Rodrigo as a surprise set isn't going to get any smaller, for better or for worse it is miles apart from when I was first going   personally I still find the people amazing, never have any hassle & the line ups are always so strong & diverse.  We will definitely return for the 25th anniversary next year!
    • I love this festival but Mordor has got worse and worse to the point now that I dread going there. 10 years ago there just weren’t as many people, as many bottlenecks and there wasnt the need to arrive early to have a decent spot.
    • Aren't they against touring?
    • If my memory serves me right, it was the other way round - when PS 2022 lineup was released it was already confirmed that she plays Barcelona in May.
    • Cheers! And yep looks identical to Green day's scheduling
