The Killers

I know they're hiatus, and I certainly didn't expect to see them back so soon.

I've watched an interview between Zane Lowe and Brandon from a few days ago, it ends with Brandon saying something along these lines- "I don't know where we'll be come festival season but I hope that we've already been writing songs"

ZL: "So that means the conversations have been had?"

It's more clear in the video...

I could be wrong, but to me, that gives the impression that The Killers will be making festival appearances next year. Just some interesting news that I thought I'd share.

They really do need to take a bigger break imo

Since 2007, they've headlined Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, V fest twice and T in the Park twice as well as touring, so there's really not much demand for them

I think they could be potential Glasto 2013 headliners though

i totally agree, but they have became very radio friendly which will keep them up the top for a while

unless their next album is a commercial flop this is where they will stay

i gather day and age was quite succesful, although it was simply boring and quite rubbish!

I can't see it unless they have a new album out, I think they will wait. Brandon has his whole solo thing for a bit, so it give the actual band a nice break.

I quite like Day & Age actually, my fav album is Sawdust, terrific album and what there 2nd studio album should have been really

I really really really hope they don't play.

I have been to 4 festivals in the past when The Killers have headlined and, as much as anyone would say "oh just go and see someone else instead of pissing moaning about it" (I would ordinarily be one of those people) I just really don't think they're all that and would probably not settle for anything less than headline after they did it in 2007.

Give the slot to someone like Elbow, who, in my eyes, deserve their chance.

Plus their guitarist seems like a massive tool.

    • I read the Kerrang review and they didn’t seem overly positive. The definition of a 6 out of 10.
    • Interesting the stat guys say 3 points and -3 goal difference is where it gets to 50/50 territory in terms of going to the last 32. If Scotland lose their last 2 at best they are on -1, play like they did yesterday and they could take a heavy loss.   However thinking about it positively get 4 points from the last 2 games and the group is won! Have heard a few saying Scotland should just park the bus next 2 games, but not sure they have the players to do it. From my perspective they could really do with a decent defensive midfielder to add balance, but not sure if they have one in the squad. They also need significantly more from Mctominay who I thought was poor, but understand he has been unwell.
    • Yup and they aren't all going to get them, some are going to miss out. Speaking of this, I met someone at RIP who went to RFP and his view was band wise it's value for money but it wasn't a festival itself he'd be rushing to return to. In fairness as well he probably liked more of the headliners there than me this year whereas I was more undercard and he wasn't returning.
    • Maybe Starmer's legacy will be a war with Russia.
    • How were GnR? Seen some videos and pictures and let's just say, the crowd to the sides at the front and in front of the sound tents were let's just say... Sparse compared to LB.
