Hello everyone, last year Storm_NL started a thread just like this in October,/index.php?showtopic=133170&st=0">Getting fit for Glasto 2010 I have to say I didn't find it until some time after it began, but I did find the support of my fellow festival goers invaluable. I have lost4 stone 8lb Stone4 stone 10lb Stone 4 stone 12lb Stone 5 stone 5 stone and 1lb 5 stone and 3.5lb 5 stone and 5lb5 stone and 8lb 5 stone and 12lb 6 stone and 1lb 6 stone and 8.5lb6 stone and 10lb7 stonewith the help and support of this thread, Weightwatchers and my friends and family I want to lose about another 2 or 3 stone (At the ime of starting the thread) (Not sure exactly but will know I am there when I look in the mirror)so let's support each other. :)

Here's the plan...Start now, get your slimming heads on and lets aim to lose at least an inch off our waistbands by Christmas then take a bit of a break for the festivities and get hard back at it into the New Year and lose at least another two inches by the time we are heading down the motorway on our annual pilgrimage!!

Who's in?

This post is updated occasionly so the first post is up to date as such...

I'm in again. Lost just over 2 stone ready for Glastonbury last year, but have hovered around the same since June, which is annoying. Now contending with a broken foot, a plaster cast and 3 weeks all inclusive in two weeks time so will not really start again until the beginning of October, but am determined to be another 2 stone down by next Glastonbury and that will be me done I reckon

Slow and steady wins the race I reckon:-)

You are looking better and better each week djvv, quite an inspiration, and really pretty - bet you feel amazing now - well done :-)

I'm in!! I'd quite like to drop around 2 stone before next year so plenty of time to do it in! I was quite envious of all the skinny minnies in their bikini tops this year whilst I sweltered! LOL

I shall start on 16th Sept though - Off to Istanbul for 5 days on Friday, and then we are home for a couple of days before we go to Zurich for a further 5 days! Turkish kebabs and Swiss fondue does not a good healthy eating plan make!

hi all. I also found the fit-4 thread a little late last year, however after five weeks of diciplined eating and a rowing machine i managed to loose about 1.5 stone before the gates opened. Since glasto i havent gained any weight but have traded muscle for fat as i did not keep my regime up. Originaly i was just over 15 stone and managed in the end to get to just about 13.5, some of that went back on straight away at glasto :). So ide like to get down to a solid 13 maybe even less before next years frivolities. Glasto, for me is a great excuse for loosing weight, i found it very important to keep the momentum up and running. ill be using the same mind set in the year ahead and hopefully will feel even better than this years jaunt! loosing that 1.5 and gaining muscle and stamina didnt half make the difference between and tiresome glasto and a non-stop one!

so....im in!

As soon as bingley is over this weekend!

DVJJ - haven't had the time to write properly, but you look fabulous. I'm wanting to lose 1 stone 2lb by the end of the year - which doesn't sound a lot, but my will power is rubbish! You are are an inspiration to will power, and to all those lucky skinny minnies - this is bloody hard work. I'm off on hols for a week on Fri, but will start in ernest on my return - mainly for my ski trip, but Glast is a good enough excuse too. cejx xx

Room for a big one?!!! In a dream world i'd like to lose 5 stone, realistically i'd be happy with about 3! I was thinking about joining slimming world, can't be arsed with calorie counting etc and a mate of mine lost about 16 stone doing it! Not sure i'm disciplined enough, my user name may give away my weakness!

Ah yes, great idea!

I noticed that I was in much better shape in 2009 than I was this year just from the effect walking and the heat had on me. I was rather slim in 2009 (daft hipster skinny jeans to boot!) but I've let myself go massively this year sadly and it's left a gigantic dent in my confidence. I'm not grossly overweight but I could definitely stand to lose a few pounds to get back to how I was. I've been trying to put it right on and off for a while now but I'm finally knuckling down this week now my muscles have stopped aching each time I try to do any physical form of activity :D . I've been doing 45 minutes of stairs aerobics (basically just going up and down the stairs) since monday now and will have another two sessions this week combined with going for a wee run at night and a few dumbbell curls. I'm also eating a lot healthier, drinking a lot more water and drinking coffee, which helps to suppress my often uncontrollable appetite. Sounds daft but the stairs stuff is utterly exhausting and intense!
