WWJD, Please don't come on this site suggesting that God caused the death of those poor people. From a Christian perspective, God might be angered by the sin, however the price of sin is death, and has already been paid.

Your posts do nothing to evangelise people, and everything to put them off the Christian faith.

Have you ever been to the Vatican or Rome? The level of wealth held by the Catholic Church in one small area is absolutely astounding. For instance they own 90% of the worlds stock of porphyry, a purple marble mined out of existence by the Romans which is now worth $10,000 per square inch. Nero's bath which is on public display in the Vatican and is made from porphyry is alone worth more than $400million. This is of course on top of the millions upon millions of pounds worth of art on the walls of churches all over Rome and lets not forget the money held in the Vatican bank, the value of its land held all over the world, the priceless artefacts held in its vaults etc etc. Would they have any of this wealth if they were no longer able to spread the myth of god or if they hadn't been able to aggressively spread the message in the first place, often resorting to violence and murder to do so? I doubt it. Is it hypocritical that the Vatican sits upon hundreds of billions of dollars doing very little with it whilst encouraging many of their members who are living in terrible poverty to give up what little money they have to the church? I think it is.

Whilst it’s important to remember that the Catholic Church seems to have fallen a long way from the messages in the bible and as a result it's unfair to tar all religions with the same brush. I do however think its very telling that the one organisation that should be sticking so tightly to the teachings of jesus etc seem to do nothing of the sort and have for hundreds of years have not thought about religion or the bible but about securing the future of the church and acquiring/holding on to power and wealth above all else. This is the reason why they have covered up the abuse of children, this is why many Nazi war criminals were aided by the Catholic Church, some even hidden within Vatican itself, not because they love god but because they love the church, two seemingly very different things.

Plus you only need to read the bible to see what a contradictory mess it rabbits on about, which above all else should tell you what a load of bollocks the whole thing is.

That's the thing, I do understand and that's why I'm an athiest, because I've taken the time to read and understand both sides of the argument and because when you look at it objectively there is absolutely no evidence to sugest that god exists or that he made the world in 7 days. It sounds to me like you don't understand and that you're just spouting the same old shit because it's what you've been told, not because thats what you truely feel is right. You mentioned Richard Dawkins as basically a money grabber but have you actually taken the time to read his books or are you simply using phrases like 'aggresive athisim' because thats what the pope said last week? His books would never have sold in the volumes they have if the facts that he presents don't stand up to scrutiny, if he was wrong he would be considered little more than a crackpot however he isn't is he, in fact he's considered to be one of the leading scientists around.

Are you also saying that allowing priests who had admitted to abusing children to carry on doing so because the church has done nothing more than moving them to a different

parrish is acceptable because in the end god will judge them? What if they repent, they get to absolutely ruin the life of an innocent person who will be tormented by their past on a

daily basis and get off scott free? I'm sure the idea of said priest possibly being told off a

bit by god at the end of a long full, happy life lived in comfortable surroundings as a great

comfort.

Also how can you offer a message of non-judgement when you seemed to start this thread

simply to pass judgement on the poor people who were killed in Germany.

Please either stop trolling or take a long hard look at yourself and the things that you're

saying, he who is without sin etc etc!

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:16-17)

You've quoted some unknown author's words, that you've read in a book. You expect people to read them, be astounded by the wisdom they impart, and suddenly convert and become Christians.

If I quote some Dawkins at you, why do you think the result will be different?

BTW, the irony with Dawkins is that it's the religious that have made him so famous, you just can't stop talking about him. I'd never heard of him, but you religious types kept telling me how wrong Dawkins is, so in the end I looked up who he was.

Never read him tho. Why would I? It's telling me and lot of people like me nothing we hadn't already worked out for ourselves. :)

Out of 25 points I have made you have agreed, reacted positively or sympathised with 17. You have given neutral answers to 3 and only been negative on 5. You see there is lots of common ground, keep talking.
