So it's been confirmed that Anne Hathaway will play Selina Kyle/Catwoman (good call) and Tom Hardy will play Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. I wonder if this will be some version of the Knightfall/Knightsend story line? Lots of opportunities for small cameos from incarcerated (or not) villains, maybe even a bit of Joker from unused footage or something. It's supposedly the last Batfilm Nolan will make, so having Batman apparently defeated (by Bane breaking his back, Alfred and (in the comics) Robin (but maybe Catwoman in the film to keep the villain/hero/love interest thing going with the character) rescue him) and then coming back (rising?) to save his city could leave the series on a high note, and maybe even open to continuation by somebody else. Still not sure about the rumour Nolan will end it with Batman dead, seems a bit too much of a down note - maybe just Bruce Wayne 'kills off' Batman in some way.

My money is still on Prey story arc, you just replace the cop with Bane (Bane was manipluated and obbessed with Batman so those traits will carry over) and Hugo Strange still to come as this has been too low key to make me think it's the full cast now. I'm intrested that the announcement only says Selina and not Catwoman and there's still the other female role which still hasn't been announced yet. I think the Huntress would of made a better sidekick than Catwoman if that the route he's gonna take it.

Nolan has already said Joker won't be used in any shape as he hates the idea of CGI, old footage etc.

My money is on he'll either have Batman announced he's Bruce Wane or have a Dark Knight Returns style him going underground with no one knowing if he's alive and becomes an urban myth but it does seem most likely he'll return to the spotlight as a goodie again.

Currently working my way through The Walking Dead TPBs. Really enjoying it, it's really engaging. I just finished book 8, and am impatiently waiting for 9 to come back into the library. I'm a bit fraught, because the way book 8 ended left me shocked at some of the characters that got killed off, and I'm desperate to know where the story is going next.

A Prey storyline crossed with Knightfall sounds truly epic, and would be a fitting end for the Batman.

I'd love for it to end in total disaster.

That article has reminded me that it's being shot in Japan, wonder if it's gonna be delayed or canned due to the earthquake? Really hope they don't decide to change it from the Japan finding yourself vibe to something in America with lots of pointless cameos every 5 mins.

Anyone read the new Justice League #1? I thought it was nice to look at but nothing spesh.

Morrison's Superman is the only other book from the New52 that im interested in tbh.

Using this reboot from DC to move 100% to hardcover. Nuts to see the 200K printrun on JL1 is totally sold out. I'll let the kids fight amongst themselves for issues - i remain distinctly unimpressed with the whole thing.

I'm not as familiar with the tv show as you Nal, but I always found Penguin to be a nastier piece of work with Riddler and especially Joker being camp as a row of tents.

It has it's detractors but Killing Joke redefined the Joker since it's publication. The ending is rubbish but there are parts where (to me at least) we see the most "real" version of this character.
