Looks across the room at Ye Olde Rucksack: mines still really empty, loadsa room ... loadsa room ... loadsa room ... Like *very* empty hence the echo  Really ought to start thinking about getting the usual cr@p together and packing up sometime soon(ish) I guess ... but nah, plenty of time yet and I haven't caught up on here yet amongst other things

Am sure the bl**dy thing will weigh the usual several tons when I do finally get around to it mind you !

Just went to Tesco for my Glasto shop :D

Got:

1kg of Carrots

1 pack of McVities Oat Squares

1 pack of McVities oat bakes

2 packs of hobnobs

400g roast salted peanuts

1 box of blueberry shreaded wheat cereal

1 carton of pomegranate juice

1 carton of apple & elderflower juice

1 3L box of NZ wine

All came to £21 with sales + vouchers. Not bad at all considering the box of wine was £14 on its own.

Got my backpack full, with pillow and sleeping bag clipped on the sides. And then a gym bag with all that food + a 15 crate of beer. It's manageable, but still a bit of a mission. Will be thinking of how much lighter it'll be on the way back :D

I discovered that if you put your sleepingbag and raingear (towel and stuff) in a normal plastic bag, put the vacuumcleaner on it, it sucks out a lot of air, then quickly put some ducktape around it and it really is a lot smaller...

Sorry if this tip is not new but I'm really happy with teh extra space in my bag, since I'm flying over and can't take a lot.

I fit my tent inside my 60L bag. Would have more room if I carried it separately, but it doesn't fit in its bag so it's a bit of a mess, and as I'm going by coach having it all together in one piece is much more convenient. Plus I have so much stuff in my food bag I'm not going to have spare hands...

My boyfriend's gone out for the evening so I said I'd do the packing if he just left his clothes out for me. I do this every year. As soon as my bag's full of all of the crap I take, I just start putting it in his. Works a treat every time! I think he knows, well I guess he must do when he opens his bag and finds it mainly full of dresses! He gets a night at the pub though, before having to put up with me talking at him for four hours in the car tomorrow! Everyone's a winner. x

I've got a saucepan and 1 ring burner and a kettle. I vacuum packed all my clothes rolled my sleeping pag and pillow together and then stuck them both in a compression sack and I've only taken thin clothes and 1 hoody if it gets cold!

I have jut packed mine, I travel really light clothes wise, take up less than a third of my 60ltr, got a pillow in there, 2 litres cider, 14 cans, 4 50ml bottles of voddy, cereal bars and a towel. Having to take a small bag with jacket, crisps and wash shizzle in. With a tent bag I think that is somewhere near my max for one trip from the car.

In answer to the cans question, you can squeeze loads in but its all down to whether you can carr ythe bloody thing s they are heavvvvyy!!!

CAN NOT WAIT NOW. A training day at work tomorrow, nice and easy, early finish, drive to ldn then a few hours kip before setting of on the journey around 6am weds, hopefully be all set up just in time to settle at the pyramid and watch the footy. It seems to take ages to ocme round but in actual fact only feels like yesterday we were all going crazy to blur.........ahhhhhhh

Well mine is over flowing and I haven't started on the clothes yet. All I have in it is 40 beers, sleeping bag (which I can put on the outside) and a light. In the side pockets I have a camping pillow, torch, blankets and babywipes.

Tomorrow I'm going to give it another go and may well have to begin on a holdall.

My 50ltr rucksack is very full but sleeping bag inside along with lots of clothes and essentials such as my airbed. Plus pillow fits in the camping mat straps off my bag. Wellies attached to the outside and just enough room for waterproof and make up bits inside. For a girl I'd say that's impressive. My life for 5 days in one rucksack. I take more than that to my boyfriends for a weekend lol.

Yep, my 65 litre is also full with sleeping bag strapped to the bottom and more stuff to find room for.

Can't believe I trekked for two weeks around Scandinavia with it some years back!!

Carrots are amazing. At Reading 5 years ago I ended up wrecked on cider and whiskey, and way too hungover to eat anything. So I slowly worked my way through all the food I had and couldn't keep anything down. Then I got to the carrots and found they're the greatest hangover food ever! They're dry and don't have an overly strong taste/smell, but they have quite a bit of water in them for hydration.

So ever since I've taken a bag of carrots to every festival. At Reading last year I did manage to work my way through the whole 1kg over the course of the week, but even if I don't get through them all it doesn't matter. Carrots are cheap (Only £1 for all those carrots!!!), last ages and can always cook with them when I get back.

EDIT: Just checked my receipt... apparently I have 1.35kg of carrots :D I should set up a stall

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
