Has anyone noticed that a bunch of players that might be expected to be definites for England u-21s were left out of the squad announced yesterday?

It's looking like Pat is going to name a squad full of kids for next week's friendly - Walcott, Johnson, Wiltshire, etc. Which should be interesting. I wonder if Lennon is going to be someone who makes that "young" squad, or if his WC has blown his chances.

But here's betting that when it comes to the qualie in a few weeks it'll be back to the same players as went to the WC.

Meanwhile, Lumpard and Defoe have been getting their excuses in early for them performing pooorly next week - which will become highly amusing if they're not actually in the squad.

Every player has ambition but for most there is a level that ambition can be sacraficed for money. If they offer him enough he will probably accept reserve team football.

tho there's greater temptation to the player than just the cash!

If the player has belief on their own abilities, then they'll join believing that there's the chance that they could end up as first choice - and there's not many players who would prefer to play for Reading than Liverpool (no disrespect meant to Reading).
