i just think it's a bit silly in the whole. i wouldn't want any numbers retired, but as i say, can understand the first two. foe more so.

just seems to give an air of the player is bigger than the club. which should never be the case.

cech is surely a better player than zola. do they retire the no.1 jersey when he leaves? and you've teams like man utd with best adn charlton etc who's numbers are continued to be used. pointles exercise i think. just a number innit? all this talk of suarez being 'the new no.7'. who cares?

Zola contributed a lot more in his team at Chelsea than Cech did, in a way Roman only bought Chelsea as they were CL team so if Zola hadn't help build the club to that point he wouldn't have bought it and Cech wouldn't have signed.

I'm more cynical about Foe though as he was only at the club for 1 season.

surely being based in london played more a part than zola? i dunno though, would be nice to learn the in's and out's of it.

foe died whilst that shirt belonged to him didn't he? nice mark of respect, but i think there are better ways.

as i say, just think it's silly.

    • I was hoping that they would just do a tour like they were set to in 2020, rather than having Download as their UK appearance. If they are at DL, I would be surprised to see them headline. I think they sub under Deftones or SOAD
    • well, we might know by the end of next month if they drop the lineup early again
    • I'm definitely not camping 🙂.  My 17 year old Daughter and her friends are there 3 days and commuting back to Sheffield each day as didn't want to camp .  I am taking and picking up the Saturday so thought I may as well get a ticket as love Fontaines DC - need to do a lot of research on the other acts though to fill my day.    I walked through the camp site other year the day Arctic Monkeys played and it was like a War Zone.  My Son has camped a couple of times but didn't fancy my Daughter staying over.
    • Not at all impressed with Polanski saying "noone should be barred from public life" wrt the Tory neo-nazi. I really don't think "no nazis in politics" should be an excessive standard.
