when the morons get on one as they have this morning because they've left their brains at home in bed, it's hardly surprising that I feel the need to re-state what I said against the bullshit fantasies they invent from what I've said. ;)

Why?

His brief is essentially the structure of the coaching set up of the best kids in the country. Southgate has 101 coaching badges and tons of experience at the top level. He just does not have the highest coaching badge of them all - the UEFA Pro License. The coaches that he is tasked with improving are ones coaching u13, u15, u17 etc - coaches that do not require and will not require UEFA Pro Licenses - the role of a kids coach is totally different to managing top flight professional footballers.

So, in short, he won't be less qualified than the coaches he is tasked with improving. You are posting an opinion of something you know nothing about. I spot a recurring theme here know nothing Neil.

Retard.

every time you show yo0urself as the five year old you act as, here it comes again.....

West Ham - the academy of football. A place where the good football is only from kids, and where the supporters have the minds of kids. It seems like that round here, anyway. ;)

There's nothing like the absence of 'sir' to make a moron come out of his shell.:lol:

It's still funny. And true. :)

Still, far from being a donkey...

then I wonder why you keep labelling him as one, retard.

What have his managerial and punditry skills got to do with:

  1. heading up the changing of the coaching structure in youth football
  2. increasing the number and quality of the coaches themselves
  3. improve the relationship between clubs and country with special regard to releasing players for U17, U19, & U21 international matches

I'd suggest none.

I'd also suggest that he's a bloody good candidate for the role.

and what are you basing this on? do you know him personally? all we have to judge him on is his dealings with the game since playing it.

i'd suggest his managerial experience would have a little to do with discovering and helping blood young players. and as far as his punditry skills go, he's on itv. and is on a par with mark lawrenson for me for intelligence/insight.

maybe he'll prove me wrong and be great at this job. but regarding the elite discussion, he's far from it.

Do you think?

I wouldn't have him at the top level. Not near. Top level, even just defenders at that time, are people like Maldini, Baresi, Adams, Stam, Nesta, Cafu, Blanc, Hierro, Koeman, Desailly, Zanetti, Roberto Carlos, Thuram, Sammer, Kohler, Cannavaro, Bergomi etc.

Theres 17 odd players for starters. Would you really have Southgate up there with that lot?

Presented with facts you have nothing meaningful to offer do you?

Presented with facts that show your opinion to be worthless you ignore the debate and revert to posting inane bullshit.

Retard.

So someone who is not an elite coach is the best that "Sir" worthless Trev can find for the role of being elite.:lol:

That's meaningful. Shame it's not a good state of affairs.

There are literally hundreds upon thousands of defenders from that era

exactly - and that's just the defenders. Southgate does not have a role for just defenders.

But in that list of "literally hundreds upon thousands of defenders from that era" - just the defenders - would southgate be near the top of anyone's list? Nope.

He's more than decent, but he's short of being at the top.

I don’t think hes a donkey no. But, miss a peno in a major competition and it’ll never go away. Even Baggio, its his most showed clip! And he was arguably the worlds best player for about two years around that time.

Utter lunacy. Gradi is a genius - he is a genius at working with and improving youngsters. That's not Southgate's role, and not suited to Gradi. Besides which, he wouldn't have dreamt of accepting it should he have been offered it.

Same could be said of Tony Carr.

Still demonstrating you have no understanding of Southgate's role I see.

care to show me where I've commented on Southgate's role rather than how he doesn't match the title of that role?

so harnessing those skills hes has, the work ethic and techniques he uses, and passing them on to the next generation of coaches, so we have a vast network of qualified coaches using those same techniques with youngsters across the parks and playgrounds of england is sheer lunacy
