Roger Waters Tour 2011

I have been successful in the presale (still have to try get a ticket on monday though) but still wandering whether I should try get a ticket

What is Roger Waters like live? 80 quid is a lot of money for a single gig, especially since I am a student so the price of the whole trip would be over 200 quid

I'm a huge floyd fan, will it be worth it?

The Roger Water's Wall Concert in Berlin on 21 July 1990 was the best Concert I have ever seen .

Held in Potsdamer Platz (a location which was part of the former "no-man's land" of the Berlin Wall the concert was even bigger than the Pink Floyd era ones { which lucky enough I was also able to attend }, as Waters built a 550-foot long and 82-foot high wall, which was broken down in the same show.

The show had a sell-out crowd of over 200,000 people, and right before the performance started the gates were opened to the concert and an additional 100,000 to 500,000 (estimates vary) people from East Berlin were able to enter for free so we are talking about a huge audience.

When you add in the cost to attend that concert its cheaper now than what it was then although I doubt the 02 will be as good as Berlin but as its likely that Roger Waters will not do another major tour it has to be worth it.

all the dates are listed here http://tour.rogerwaters.com/tour/

Not my bag at all, but if you're a fan, then definitely worth it. Something you'll remember, something special, yeah, worth spending a few quid on it, I reckon.

whoo%20hoo%20flag.gif Pre-sale linkies for all 3 London gigs plus 1 of the Manc gigs currently lurking in an inbox near me :D:D

Still don't have a particularly good feeling about actually securing golden tix mind you but at least I'm in with a bit of a chance it would appear :)

Anyways, at least the old F5 finger is very well practised and in top form as a result of numerous Glasto ticket buying sessions over the years so that's one distinct advantage over many other peeps methinks ... present company excepted of course :P

well .... it's defo whoo%20hoo%20flag.gif x lots here :D:D:D

Hope any of you guys also after tix are also v.happy bunnies right now as well :) but commiserations and mucho apologies for the gloating if not :(

Block A floor seats on 12th May @ O2 not only in the bag but confirmation email also in the inbox. Only just managed to get all the details entered and confirmed within the 9 min time limit mind you as the site was running that slowly. Bit of PITA having a boxoffice collection but no big deal really and hopefully will have detered at least some of the scumbag touts from buying solely to sell on at silly money. Bet there will still be shedloads on bl**dy ebay real soon now tho

... wanders off almost as knackered but happy as when securing Glasto tix !

    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
    • Hey guys, is there a group going for any solo y not goers this year?? I couldn’t miss out once I saw the acts but it’s just me and would be great to meet some others:))
    • After deciding to abandon the festival, here's a few of my thoughts (mostly negative tbf).    On the positive side - was it just me or were there a few more urinals than last year? Seemed to help the queues at the loos a bit from what i saw. Plus they had at least had some foresight and had a few more covered areas in the VIP areas.    Now on the negatives.  The weather was admittedly pretty crap but it wasn't apocalyptic. How the actual f**k are bits of the main stage falling off in those conditions?  Then the communication was awful, there's a load of people who left the site because they were told by security guards/other personnel that there would be no more acts on the main stage this evening.  You have an app Primavera, use it! Yes, there's a shitload going on I'm sure but communication with the festivalgoers should be one of the top priorities. You failed.    And I'm not usually somebody who buys into the whole "oh this is hugely unsafe and it's lucky people weren't hurt" narrative, but all the above led to movements of people that were genuinely unsafe.  Evacuating Mordor entirely (again... Why???) and then having a horde of people trying to get in because they thought they were going to Massive Attack was insane.  And given a lot of people basically abandoned ship around 10.30pm the crush at both the exit to the festival and the entrance to the Metro was pretty dangerous.   Conditions happen, most people will get that....but the contingencies have to be better.
    • You'd think that something like bad weather was in the basics of festival planning. After the shitshow of Madrid, you'd think they'd learnt their lesson, apparently not...
    • Same. Shower and back out in a taxi!
