he's on quite a few Plastic Beach tracks so yeah, without him it'd be a bit weird... i'm sure they;'ll find a way around it (like somebody said, they could play all his tracks first then get him over to his own stage)

I'm not a big fan of U2 but i decided i was going to watch them because of their live performances, was a little disappointed that they pulled out..

I'd be happy with Gorillaz. Saw them recently on their intimate mini tour (minus projection stuff) and thought they were awesome, this coming from someone who thought they were ok and didn't know that many songs.

Pasting the text of the Melvin interview comments

British act has been signed up to fill U2's headline slot at Glastonbury on June 25.

Operations director Melvin Benn tells Billboard a deal "is done" and confirms that the act replacing U2 is British. He adds that the name will be unveiled "very soon."

However, it appears that neither Florence and the Machine or Dizzee Rascal - the favorite with bookmakers - will step up to headline the Pyramid Stage at the U.K festival. Both acts play Glastonbury on June 25 but Benn says of the replacement act for U2: "They weren't on the bill already."
