The Rabbit Hole

This year will be my fourth Glastonbury but I have only briefly visited the Rabbit Hole. After leaving I heard that there is a 'secret room' in the tent that can only be accessed by giving the correct answer to a riddle to the bouncer......is this true or have I been gullible and been 'had'??

If there is such a thing what is in this secret room/bar??

This is indeed true, but the 'Bouncer' last year was a lanky fella, he was incredibly funny and also very much off his head on drugs. His Riddle is answered by one and you just have to overhear the answer, simple.

In the next room, lots of mushroom pillows, a set of giant cards, and a dance floor. The room is on a huge tilt, so very disorientating, especially if you have also taken drugs...

oh tis true, didn't bother last year but in 07 (i think) i wended my merry way around the above ground "tunnel" there was no bouncer then!

outside of the tunnel

it was a tight crawl thru mud to get to a tipi with drapes, and a sofa and a few other bits n bobs! think they link it to their bus now tho and if i remember corectly serve cocktails and stuff :P

shame if they have a bouncer now cos it kinda shows where the entrance is! as was quite cunningly hidden when i found it

Tried linking a picture from my facebook, guessing i can't do that :/

Top of the park. Walk from the stage as if you're onstage, about 200yards. Pretty good fun. The hole is only open after 11.30pm.

There were all sorts of rumours last year about needing a carrot to get in etc!

We hunted high and low to find said vegetable but to no avail. We headed along after the music had finished and managed to get in. There was no riddle or carrot required, just had to wait a while before they opened the dwarf size gate to crawl through.

It was class when we first got in but the novelty wore off quite quickly, maybe there was just a lull in the atmosphere at that point.

There has been some posts on here in the past few years about really late night acts in there such as The Egg, which sounded amazing.

All in all it's a brilliant wee spot both during the day and at night.

I managed to go through the rabbit hole last year, we were sitting in the tent having a nice cup of tea waiting for the bouncer to open the door...

Suddenly Jarvis Cocker rocked up and marched straight towards the Rabbit hold door and the guy opened the door. We rushed to get in and followed Jarvis to the secret tent, it was cool but there was not much going on to be honest. but we got to meet Jarvis which was nice!

I met Keith Allen in there last year. He wasn't as pleased to see me as i was him......

If you do happen to wonder up there (and i sugesst you do, The Park is my favourite afterhours place at Glastonbury) go the the ridiculously small tent/ arena size thing an watch a performance/ or perform in there. At a push we had about 12 people crammed in there singing along to "Don't Stop Me Now" last year, bizzare and brilliant.

We did the tunnel thing last year - winding tunnel full of dolls house furniture to give that Alice in W. feeling - the crawled out into a tipi with lots of cushions, transvestites and a boxing ring type affair that was being used as a dancefloor - lots of disco.

I went to sleep.

If you want to be super-exclusive, you can try and get into the 'secret' secret area. We did it last year as we knew someone who was working in there, plus we had lots of spare beers to bribe the bouncers. It was all about time travel and involves strong alcohol...
