Was reading something on F365 that was suggesting that after this current crop of England players are too old, England will really start to struggle to even qualify for tournaments due to the lack of big name replacements for the likes of Gerrard, Lampard etc. Personally I think that will give us a better chance at winning something than we have now, because rather than trying to jam as many "top top"* players (and their egos) into the side regardless of whether there's enough room for them all, we'll actually be able to have a team rather than a load of individuals...

Just a theory of course!

(*apologies for the "Redknappism")

Edit: oh and that on Friday night was exactly like watching West Ham trying to break down Bolton. Thank f*ck Kevin Davies isn't Algerian or we'd have ended up losing!

At the moment it does... No grantee it will be in the future....

Yup. :(

Dave Moron has a debt to Rupert to pay off, and he'll be wanting more than an early invite to Downing Street for tea as he's already had as settlement.

There's of course no bribing these tories with integrity, oh no.:lol:

What has happened to the officials in the world cup?

First round of games i remember being impressed with how they doing.

They seem to of gone card happy this second round.

This Ref has given out 8 Yellows and 1 red in 60 minutes in the Chile - Switzerland. He is terrible.

Doesn't look like all is well in the England camp. Fabio having a go at Terry in an interview on ITV just now.

He's accused Terry of a "big mistake" going to the press yesterday.

Fabio has effectively used the press to have a pop at Terry.

I can see it all ending in tears!:ph34r:

You have to believe theres no love lost between capello and terry, I know terry felt he did nothing wrong when the captaincy was taken off him. As for spain game today, I was impressed and thought fabregas looked dangerous when he came on. Now spain know a win against chile will be enough, I suspect they will have enough. Chile will probably suit spains style of play well. Im personally hoping honduras can hold the dull swiss to a draw, which could result in both spain and chile going through.

    • I take my lad to the local non-league club - Royston Town - not he's 13, he goes there with his mates and he plays in their youth team.  Not many people there - lucky if they hit 800, but lovely supporting the town team.  I've took him to some league clubs too - Cambridge and Stevenage are great to visit and not crazy prices - his first one was Cambridge v Sunderland (I'm a mackem) when they were in league 1, so a great experience for him.  The England matches aren't too bad value either at Wembley - it's just the parking that stings you. Problem is, he's a City fan, so at some point have to bite the bullet and get him up to the Ethiad. Have done the tour, but he'd love a proper game....my wallet, less so!
    • Said it before, but if Annie Lennox is available next year, then it would be an absolute crime to instead book anyone else. She's rare and legendary enough that you drop all other plans.
    • I was having a tired day, my apologies 😂
    • I was there with Oxfam too! I got earlies so it was probably me who registered you on arrival 😀
    • Slightly unexpected, but Shambala is discounted on TfG.   Works out at about £215 after discount which is about a third off.
