I hate most Arena gigs. Just feel a bit soulless to me when you're in the identikit 12,000 capacity concrete box and doesn't have the same atmosphere of other places - especially if you end up in the seats on the side or at the back.

Good job I'm seeing them at the O2 Academy in Sheffield on Friday then. Nice little former nightclub, standing only. Niiiice. :P

How can you complain that a band is not playing your side of town? Wales again have been overlooked, it would be nice for bands to play here more often. Quite often Welsh fans have to travel to brum or the big smoke to see their idols. Not a cheap night out particularly if you from west or mid Wales. Rant over

Cheers for the mention of pre-sale here. Looking at getting tickets sorted now.

I'm going to see them on the weekend in Blackpool and know if I don't get tickets I'll be saying how awesome they were and getting eBay tickets for Manchester later in the year.

Still surprised they aren't playing Glastonbury this year, thought they were nailed on. :P

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
    • In a 6,800-word Substack essay, external, the Clacton MP said "anti-white racism was embedded into the state", and that legislation aimed at equality was a form of "social cleansing"   .https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdjkd4mp93zo   The privileged white c**t hasn’t got a clue what racism is.
