Just because he uses the word bitch doesn't make it any more offensive than plenty of other Glastonbury luminaries and their attitudes to women. Frank Zappa - Catholic Girls, Jewish Princess etc etc etc. What about Under My Thumb by the Stones? Any handful of Burt Bacharach songs, and Women Lose Weight by Morcheeba is absolutely vile. Bit of stalker Sting? Metallica?

I don't disagree that Snoop Dogg has some seemingly offensive lyrics, but Snoop won't be the first person to play who has written violent, mysogynistic, debasing lyrics about women.

If Snoop Dog plays, I'll have to think long and hard about what Glastonbury has become.

This is a man who boasts about putting women on street corners, and beating them up if they step out of line. He suggests that listeners should aspire to a similar lifestyle. It's a disgrace.

I don't know a great deal about Jay-Z. The pimp thing doesn't seem to be at the very core of his persona the way it is with Snoop.

I'm really surprised that more people here don't find the pimp stuff morally repulsive.

I wasn't at all impressed by the choice of Jay-Z, but it didn't raise my hackles the way Snoop does.

i know plenty of women who think its very funny. i'm not some mysogynist or something. i just don't take it too seriously. its music and thats how i see it.

if thats not how you see it then thats fair enough. i hope you're not complaining about him playing the festival, because i don't think thats fair. the festival is just bringing in the full range of popular music and snoop dogg will be one of the most popular acts on the bill.

there's no need to be sarky with me. i, like many other people are going to glastonbury to have some fun. no one's making you watch him, and by the time the festival comes around i'm sure you'll have completely forgotten he's playing, because i assume he presents nothign for you to get excited about?

How do you know he isn't still dong that? I wouldn't put past him altought I do love me bit of drop its like its hawt. There are many decent hip hop acts around not associated with the stuff snoop that would be much better.

because, i'd imagine, that after being made rich beyond his wildest dreams as a teenager from making The Chronic, and making much, much more since through releasing records, going on tour, tv shows etc, he hasn't had much call to hustle in years since.
