I saw Aerosmith at HRC one year. It's a gig in a field with a couple of small tents, highly commercialised and about a tenth of the size of Glasto. It's good for what it is ; specifically Londoners who want to go home after a gig.

It ain't no festival. How can it be a festival without camping?

I resent that statement! I went to see Andy Williams in the Royal Albert Hall last year, he was great! :P!

Andy Williams > Mick Hucknall.

Fact. :P

but this would be a direct conflict. Like last year when Springsteen only did 2 shows in the uk, Hyde Park and Glastonbury. I'd have been gutted if he hadn't done Glasto, as it would have meant I wouldn't have been able to see him

anyway Tugger... what's with the 'IF' he doesn't play?... if?

Had Mr Wonder on the iPod again on the way to work this morning. Singing along at top volume to every song in the sunshine. Lovely. Having a reasonably good day at work so far with "You haven't Done Nothin'" playing in my head. Then I logged on and read the HRC announcement and my heart sank. I thought (in my paranoia) that it may have been a case of "he'll play one or the other and HRC won over Glasto." Seriously, I felt ill.

This MUST happen. I'll resent every deity from every faith for all eternity if it doesn't.

:P

This actually gives me comfort that he is playing - it means he's in the country, and as said there is normally at least one act that gets rationed out between Glasto and HRC.

Cheers for that. Think my pulse is now slowing a bit.

You're all right about the HRC line up though. Crackin' ain't it. Much better than all that dross at TITP...... :P

    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
