Come on guys, bit of fun. A powertrip AND a wishlist all rolled into one. What’s not to like?

Basically what it says o the tin, if you could come up with a new stage for this year’s festival what would it be like? Would you theme it? Where would you put it? Would it replace any of the existing stages? What would you call it? And last but not least, who would you book to play it?

I’ve done this before on another forum for an entire small festival but it’s always interesting to see what other people would do...

Personally, I reckon there’s scope for a stage, identical in size and shape to the Avalon Stage, except place up near The Park/Stone Circle, so they overlook the rest of the festival and catch the low sunlight at dawn and dusk. I would call it the Effervestival Stage, and I’d assume all the big bands were taken up in the bigger stages, leaving me with some smaller bands that I could still squeeze on the stage without killing people in a crush, and hopefully with a different theme of music per day.

FRIDAY – Electronic/Ambient

Foals

Animal Collective

Yeasayer

The xx

Of Montreal

Grammatics

Gang Gang Dance

Errors

Neon Indian

Helios

SATURDAY – Indie/RocknRoll

The Hold Steady

Art Brut

Los Campesinos!

Future Of The Left

Dananananaykroyd

Cage The Elephant

Nine Black Alps

The Robocop Kraus

Times New Viking

The Spinto Band

SUNDAY – World/Folk

Bellowhead

Guillemots

Camille

Stars

Sambassadeur

-M-

Twisted Wheel

The Unthanks

Kill It Kid

Copy Haho

Be finished by midnight every night and I for one would find it very hard to drag myself away from that one...

Hopefully I’m not the only one who does this now, else I’ll look like an overly enthusiastic weirdo ha. Have fun with it. One of my friends reckons he’d replace the Pyramid Stage with Leonard Cohen playing improvisational songs about all the animals at the petting zoo that would be in its place. I mean, would be interesting at least...

it's only page 2 of the thread and some great ideas already. so great, that i'm stumped...and can only come up with a completely inappropriate, not-in-the-true-Glasto-spirit themed stage that features the sexiest female rock musicians of their time mostly for their looks, (hence no Duffy, Ting Tings) but also a bit for their music (again, hence no ting tings)

my apologies again for tarnishing the high standards of E-Fest's with this sexist rubbish ("what's wrong with being sexy then?")...but here's my stage lineup...a stage name? well, we have the John Peel Stage, so we'll honor this stage by calling it the Chan Marshall Stage
