I've always thought there are certain bands that attract certain folks and if those folks are watching them then they are not bothering me.

Small confession though, the kooks helped bring my nephew out a coma, so if I ever meet them then I will happily buy them a pint. Even though they've nearly comatosed me.

Comas work on a scale mate, (Glasgow Coma Scale, no joke) so the more you can do the better on the scale you are. so there is no real movie omg moment. Malabu Stork Nightmares by Irvine Welsh is probably closest to what its like.

Grant from wiki

The GCS is a simple 3 to 15-point scale (3 being the worst and 15 being that of a normal person) used by medical professionals to assess severity of neurologic trauma, and establish a prognosis...

Regaining consciousness is not instant: in the first days, patients are only awake for a few minutes, and duration of time awake gradually increases. This is unlike the situation in many movies where people who awake from comas are instantly able to continue their normal lives. In reality, the coma patient awakes sometimes in a profound state of confusion, not knowing how they got there and sometimes sufferering from dysphasia, the inability to articulate any speech, and with many other disabilities.

Thats where the music and things come in, not just for the initial responces but for the continuation of recovery and to help put them at ease.

But they told us to play music, dvds and talk to him like we always would.

So I would go in and say 'awright bawbag I brought you some of that shite music you listen to, wake up or I'll leave clyde 1 on all day'

He also made me get him a fratellis t-shirt from T. It ranks as one of the top ten embarissing moments of my life.

i've also been embarrassed because of the fratellis. i was in the cellars once and couldn't figure out how to use the jukebox. i was pressing all the wrong buttons and ended up putting on three fratellis songs in a row. i didn't even want one of their songs. it was a total red neck.
