Eminem?

He's already been confirmed for other festivals around Europe and he owes it to his UK fans to come back here after cancelling his tour in 2004. I can't really see it happening myself but it would be great if he came to glasto. What do you guys think? :P

Crossed my mind the other day actually when I saw he was playing European festivals in early July. Notably, he's playing Scotland and Dublin but not yet England. Why not follow Jay-Z and N.E.R.D. to Glasto?

I'd love it - why not?

Eminem would be ace. Would certainly go and see him but as the fees he would want are not what Glasto could pay its a very unlikely proposition isnt it?

Which part of "would love it if he played" don't you understand! ;D

Oh, I understand that.

But I'm on the floor laughing that some who want him to play are the sorts who bang on all the time about "the Glastonbury spirit" - and who then think that an act who is a very long way from that should be on the bill. :P

But anyway, however much you might want him to play, he ain't. I know this*.

(* that was certainly the situation or week or so back, anyway).

Good response - Eminem matter settled for now, then.

The Glasto spirit is ALL about diversity and inclusion, if you ask me. N.E.R.D. are as welcome as Lily Allen or Rolf Harris or Stevie Wonder.

That's the magic! :P

And being a homophobic twat like Eminem is also all about diversity and inclusion is it? :P

Which may well have a huge bearing on why he's not on the bill and won't ever be.

LOL Exactly, you knw where im going with this.

Pete Townsend is a Nonce.

Is being a Nonce part of the Glasto spirit???

While I don't much personally disagree with the conclusion you've reached, he's certainly not proven as one.

That's rather different to the proof given in Eminem's own lyrics.

    • TVOD are playing Blue Basement in London 2/9 with a complete EOTR/Psych Fest shaped hole before their next gig in Lyon on 8/9. Well received in the Big Top last year, reckon they're nailed on for a secret set in the Tipi.
    • Didn't they widen the entrance last year to enable them to increase the number of pitches or have I imagined this? Perhaps they might return under a different form of glamping?
    • It should forever be the Tipi.   Just as the news about Geese was shared on Twitter.
    • It really surprised me that Rock AM Ring made Download feel like an extremely well organised festival with good communication in comparison. If we were to ever try either of them again we would go for IM Park and stop in Nuremberg.     Agree that the long thin mainstage isn't great, but where the mainstage is makes it really hard to navigate when it is busy because of that choke point created by the food vendors, bar/lounges with a view of main and where the crowd is coming form second stage. The concrete is hard on the joints. The front standing is a pisstake and the communication from the fest about what is happening on site other than which campsites are filling up leaves a lot to be desired. Car parks being a free for all doesn't help either.   I think it really suffers being so far from anything other than small towns/villages that lack proper public transport and Koblenz being the closest town which you can can use to get public transport to the fest being 60km away.
    • Yeah its absolutely on me that isn't think Shinia Twain was an awful choice- i get that.  Im still of the paul simon, ELO kind of thoughts but I realise things change. Im still intrigued what constitutes legend though. Robert plant played and he wasn't a legend slot- to me that would have fitted. Is it a ' comedy ' ' good time ' slot now? Comedy isn't the right word - guilty pleasure or something like that?
