Putting aside the fact that the original basis on which this thread is based sounds total hogwash and there is no way any conversation was had with RW about Glasto, I'd see him if it was true.

Here's a scenario to make most of you sick in your mouths this Friday lunchtime:

  • RW really does get asked to play

  • Decides he wants to do something to reflect the fact that its the 40th Anniversary

  • So only plays stuff off his new album plus the following covers:

  • 'the man who sold the world'

  • 'solsbury hill'

  • 'cleaning windows'

  • 'the whole of the moon'

  • 'shipbuilding'

  • 'debaser'

  • 'dktr faustus'

  • 'little fluffy clouds'

  • 'one way'

  • 'common people'

  • 'scooby snacks'

  • 'chime'

  • 'idiotique'

  • 'seven nation army'

The more I think about it, the more I don't think this will happen.

Just a hunch. Hope I'm wrong. It has been known to happen before.

Last night me and my friend were lucky enough to attend the Brit Awards Aftershow Party, where we seen Liam Gallagher going mental over Robbie chatting to his mrs. When we spoke to Liam he said that the band will be releasing their new album and they will be touring it this summer, however he only had bad things to say about playing Glastonbury. This werent the case with Robbie though, he spoke to us and had pictures taken for about 10minutes, we asked about gigging and what he had planned and he said he has been asked to played below Stevie Wonder on the sunday!

He had drunk alot that night so he might of been trying to wind us up, but he seemed genuine and enthused to play. What an amazing night i didnt expect to bump into these two personal icons, especially when they were both the main centres of attention at this years party!

Just a minor point, why has the poster said 'last night' the Brits were Tuesday 16th, this was posted this morning. Even if he/she were meaning the previous night that would be Wednesday not Tuesday.

Hoax possibly?

And being closet Robbie fan I would like it to be true! :P

Having done a little more research as its not something I would waste my time watching, I also would question that Liam Gallagher was at the after party having behaved like he did at the awards?

I really don't think this can be true.

The Glastonbury Rules and Regulations Handbook, section 3, paragraph 4 clearly states:

'Only one Williams shall be allowed to perform on any given Sunday'

As Andy is already confirmed, that's the end of that. :P

Right, I've heard back.

Word I'm getting - which I trust as being true - is that it's 100% bullshit. Robbie is not doing any live shows this year.
