You made a lot of very passionate posts in a thread about the World Cup - not unreasonable posts either I might add, although I disagreed - and said that football wasn't what Glastonbury was about.

Would you agree that comments like your first post in this thread are rather anti-Glastonbury? Wishing cancer on someone? I find that sort of comment highly distasteful and so it would seem do the majority of people who have replied on this thread. If you can't understand or appreciate why others might and indeed do get offended by such a remark, I suggest you think very carefully before you hit 'add reply'.

I've not had time to read through all the comments so sorry if this has already been mentioned: I saw that Ian Wright hosted show on Channel 5 last night and two guys who blagged their way into the Brits and met Robbie (photo proof) said he left after 20 mins with his gf. He was not drinking alcohol because he is tee total. So how you met him and had this conversation with him when he was drunk is a complete mystery to me............. :P

If you can sing i have less of a problem with it.

examples of acts i dont mind include Elvis, early Rolling Stones, Sinatra etc

when your badly singing someone elses words, whats the point?

wallinger illustrated this point beautifully at SXSW - he stopped halfway through 'shes the one' and simply said 'and i know who she is'

No it isn't. You've clearly no idea what it's like to live with and loose people you love to the big c, and your flippancy shows this.

I'm quite happy to talk about cancer. I just don't tend to use it in humour. Because there isn't that much funny about it really.

I'm over this conversation. I should have gone straight to moderators without engaging, frankly.

It was clearly a throwaway comment. A way of expressing my disappointment that he might be playing.

If you cant see that then god help you.

I'm not going to start apologising for absolutely harmless jokes made on an internet forum.

I've actually watched and RW concert on the TV, which I quite enjoyed (small cigars to blame probably :P ), and I'm sure he'd be a great warm-up act for SW. RW without doubt knows how to get a crowd going. Neither are what I want to see sat in a field in Somerset though, so I'll be elsewhere, but I'm sure fans of either/both will have a lovely time.

The cancer thing? My sister has just been given the all clear, but as she was told there is never a complete fix for cancer - you might get lucky, you probably won't, the issue being rather more likely to be when rather than if.

Edit : Got my mucking fords wuddled...

Surely as soon as you write anything on a PUBLIC forum, it is the "business" of every member of the forum. If you want something to remain none of anyone else's business, keep it to yourself.

Back on topic, I'm not a Robbie fan and generally think he's a bit of a twat but he's got a lot of great songs behind him and I think he'd be a great warm up for Stevie. Whether I go (if it's true) or not depends on what else is on but I wouldn't avoid it like the plague.

Oh and I hate to burst anyone's balloon, but Robbie actually HAS contributed towards the writing of his songs. Certainly a damn sight more than Liam Gallagher.

What, Liam Gallagher doesn't write any songs? What about Meaning of Soul, Guess God thinks I'm Able, Soldier On, Songbird?

Ok, 3 out of them 5 are shit, but he still wrote them.

    • Start another one...    Il go with, Florence Road -  who im sure will be Flo-Ro eventually. Getting rave reviews including from myself, Probably will be on many more peoples radar post this festival season, doing quite well up to this point, bear in mind they still have not released an album. Putting them on Woodsies for now but this could easily end up on Other.

    • Hi all, first timer at trees this year volunteering with Oxfam. Any tips or suggestions of must-sees other than the main stages on my time off? I keep seeing chats about the silent disco?    Also any smaller bands recommendations? Sprints / Arcane Roots / High-Vis style. Cheers all 🤝
    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
