Fair do's that's the first reasonable answer I've heard to that question. He did play Thunder Road though....and I know people who've been going to see him for 30 years who've only heard him do The River about 4 times. I agree Because The Night was a highlight, well done to whoever made the sign for that. Pity they didn't show it on the telly. Thing is though, I can list about 30 songs I'd have liked too. I knew I was never going to get them all!

Can you please tell me what is actually sub-standard about their music then please. Production is second to none, writting is fantastic and the songs all have the stay-abillity-factor.

Absolutely, it was confirmed this that that the Brits are nothing to do with music and are just a total load of crap after they decided to give the outstanding achievement award to Robbie F*cking Williams. Outstanding achievement, the man can't achieve an empty bowel let alone achieve something in music, WTF are they thinking? I can't think of a man that deserves this award less than that stinking pile of turd.

how old are you now, if you don't mind me asking? only the Brits have always been irrelevant sh*te as far back as i can remember, which is 20 odd years now. if you sell a lot of records these days, you win one. or more. before that it always seemed like it used to be Phil Collins and Kate Bush winning, regardless of whether or not they'd released anything.

i just popped into my head that if it wasn't many years since you were twelve then it must be youth that makes the Brits seem good. i used to do the same as you - watch with all the family - when i was young. i still remember my mum moaning at the Fleetwood and Fox one (89 i think) and me not really getting why.

if you were 12 just 5 years ago, i was 26 then. and i thought they Brits were awful.

it probably wont stop me keeping an eye on it tonight though - i believe it's on TV live again. they stopped doing that for a few years because of the bad behaviour on stage and the swearing. i'll be hoping for a bit of that this evening!

Yeah you are right he did play Thunder Road I forgot that.

I wasn't bothered about him playing them all just a couple, particularly Atlantic City. I'm not a massive Bruce fan though I maybe know a bit more than the average person who was there. I just thought if he had thrown in something like Walking in Memphis, a song that most of the people there would know then it would have got the crowd going and brought them into it. It didn't have to be BITUSA just a few more well known songs the crowd could join in with since it was a festival and not a Bruce show.

Maybe just maybe they are who they are, nothing to do with Liam. Do you honestly think Liam and co are the only people in the world with that personality and people are copying them? I'd beg to differ.

    • I was hoping that they would just do a tour like they were set to in 2020, rather than having Download as their UK appearance. If they are at DL, I would be surprised to see them headline. I think they sub under Deftones or SOAD
    • well, we might know by the end of next month if they drop the lineup early again
    • I'm definitely not camping 🙂.  My 17 year old Daughter and her friends are there 3 days and commuting back to Sheffield each day as didn't want to camp .  I am taking and picking up the Saturday so thought I may as well get a ticket as love Fontaines DC - need to do a lot of research on the other acts though to fill my day.    I walked through the camp site other year the day Arctic Monkeys played and it was like a War Zone.  My Son has camped a couple of times but didn't fancy my Daughter staying over.
    • Not at all impressed with Polanski saying "noone should be barred from public life" wrt the Tory neo-nazi. I really don't think "no nazis in politics" should be an excessive standard.
