I don't want to bang on here, or have this come across as a personal vendetta, so I'll clarify my point.

I have absolutely no problem with Metallica/Rage/KoL or any other act you care to mention and would be happy to see them at Glastonbury. BUT, if this is the sort of music that floats your boat, then you are more likely to see acts you like at Reading or Download. Rightly or wrongly, Glastonbury doesn't seem to book the heavier end of the rock spectrum that often.

That's all I'm saying. OK?

Difficult to keep the headliners fresh every year and places like T churn out dross like Snow Patrol, KOL, Killers every second year.

Glasto at least is a little bit brave with it's headliners and does push the boat out. Last year wasn't my choice of Pyramid headliners and instead I saw

Fri - Doves

Sat - Wonderstuff

Sun - Prodigy

All fanfeckintastic. That said a lot of ppl went to the Pyramid and had a ball.

This year, again they have pulled out the stops.

U2 - A band that never play festival ?? Amazin that Glasto have them and this could be a Red Rocks moment in the making

Muse - Probably most popular modern band with amazin stage show

Stevie - Don't fancy his stuff very much and will go see something else. That said nobody can last that long and remain popular without being an absloute legend. First class booking but not my taste

Just can't fathom out the moans and groans about headliners but get yer £40 back if it bugs you that much and let someone have the ticket that wants to be there.

Yes - that IS okay. But in discussions over SPECIFIC bands (i.e. those three versus our actual headliners) I'd prefer if you didn't take some sanctimonious tone and tell me to "Google Reading or Download". That's the difference.

I'm going to do a long boring post now cause I'm bored.

I'm exctatic about U2 and Stevie Wonder headlining and I think it is a great coup for the festival.

Not arsed about Muse playing but hoping for CHIC to headline the Jazz World or The Hives to headline John Peel, that would be epic. Although I'm really happy for the people that do give a shit about Muse playing and I hope he pulls it off for you guys :P

The truth is their not Dreadfull they are a huge coup for the festival and even the people that don't like them perticularly are saying that.

Stop trying to act all cool and just face the fact that they are a great and electic set of headliners, something for everyone in there!

:P ...

oh no... what a fool i feel

there's 2 possibilities here...

1... you're lying, and you've decided to say you were tricking us all along (oooh you prankster :P )

or

2... it was a trick all along (oooh, you prankster) and people believed you.... Imagine it, people actually believing what someone says

either way, you're a twat, partly 'cause no-one will believe you next time... happy?

    • Yeah, that was always a possibility.   We're obviously obsessed with Glastonbury and so assumptions are made when something like that is said. It's unlikely Madonna feels quite as strongly about the festival and so her being excited about something big in the UK next year (or however she phrased it) should really be taken as carrying a lot more possibilities.
    • MGK to headline anyone?
    • Fantastic news.  Not got our settlement car park pass yet, but this gives me hope that it will arrive soon
    • I think they mentioned it in one and interview that the concept of Passport is one thing that differentiates the Sziget from other festival and encourages to explore the site outside music stuff. I doubt they will get rid of it, they might just be late, like they are with everything else.
