The s*n thought they got their reportage right for Hillsborough too! :P

If I were Michael E, I'd give 'em a Pyramid Stage slot.....

Litter picking every morning at 6-00 :P

I'd better not say how I'd like Mike Batt & Katie (S)Melua employed..but it involves (very) long drops :P

Was just about to say 'I can't wait to see the look on Stevie's face when he sees The Wombles are his support act'...oops.

The worst thing one can do at Glastonbury is to take the lazy unadventurous approach and get stuck at the Pyramid for too long during the day, since you miss out on all of the other aspects of the festival. However, sometimes a longish Pyramid can't be avoided as you do get a string of back-to-back great acts on the pyramid that just can't be missed.

Fortunately though, joke bookings like this - The Wombles - guarantee that I, for one, will have some extra time to be at other stages/venues without a worry about having missed anything worthwhile. Sometimes it's good to see them waste slots like this. But sometimes it angers me as I do worry that The Wombles booking takes the place of some other 'oldie' act like The Pretenders, The Waterboys, Jools Holland, even Dylan, or something else that would be nice to see on the pyramid in the afternoon on the 40th Anniversary instead of a bunch of muppets.

As a (young) child I had a wombles pillowcase and loved em - would be a laff

Although I always thought they were chavs

The wombles of Wimbledon common are we (a line from one of their songs) as a child I didn;t know there was a Wimbledon common, so put a comma in there and always thought the line was

the wombles of wimbledon,

Common are we

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
