each to their own opinion of course...

mine is that Jack Johnson is the most boring, generic, ‘safely blandly pleasant’ music around. it's what American fratboys put on before the crowds show up at their parties. Absolute rubbish.

The only reason he filled Hyde Park is that every American in London (and within an easy train ride of London, especially from the air bases in Suffolk, etc…) was there.

and 8pm on Sunday?!?! …not on the Pyramid ‘special guest’ slot surely!!! i've always thought the 'penultimate sunday pyramid slot' was a special one, what with acts like Roger Waters, Manics, Nick Cave, Primal Scream, Simple Minds, Morrissey having taken that slot. big acts with a long history or even a past pyramid headliner... Jack Johnson wouldn't come close to being in that class. put him on JazzWorld (renamed ‘SnoozeWorld’ for the Sunday only because of him)

And this is not an anti-American tirade…I’m US/Brit dual citizen, and am writing from America...

    • Never too early to start discussing next year’s headliners right?   I’m not attending this year so thought I’d get the ball rolling as I saw Weezer have a new album out in August I’d expect them to do this or Slam Dunk next year. I mean they’re probably too big for this however I think they’re niche enough that they would maybe do it, it just depends on if the fee is a bit out of range for trees.    It’ll be the 20th anniversary next year so I’d expect some throwbacks and hopefully some big headliners/acts. James has already said he’s made a mad booking that you wouldn’t guess & I think he mentioned that he’s spent something like 80% of this years budget of next years top line already on last weeks 2 promoters 1 pod (Don’t quote me on that).    I reckon they’ll try for and get at least two (not all) of the following - Enter Shikari, AFI, Weezer, Sex Pistols Feat Frank Carter, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls
    • for some reason last night watched series one of Prey on Netflix.   if Legends was written by Timmy Mallet (see above) then Prey seems to have been made by Mr Blobby.   why are all these British crime dramas so sh*t?
    • It'll be all over various Seatfillers based upon previous years at Sandringham
    • The Jayhawks 2026 UK Tour    Sept 15 – Brighton – Corn Exchange  Sept 16 – London – Electric Ballroom Sept 17 – Manchester – Academy 2 Sept 18 – Glasgow – The Garage    For you ‘americana’ lovers. They have a great song book.
    • Weezer just announced a new album & US tour so could add them to the headliner pool. Imagine they’ll do this or trees
