Don't think it will be anything like Daft Punk tbh

My little cousin loves Daft Punk and he is 14 but so does my mum who is 41. My mum likes Leftfield but my cousin hasn't even heard of them, which is the difference. I asked my mates last night who liked leftfield and in a room of 8 people only 2 had heard of them(all early 20s).

There is a serious age divide on this one I reckon.

you got a cheap ticket, that's your reward!

i agree on the free programme though. i don't think it's right having to pay to find out what time the bands or on.

jim - maybe you could release the times before the festival so that people don't have to pay, then you can still sell the lanyards and programmes at the festival so people still have the option of buying one if they want.

I mentioned the rip off that is having to buy a lanyard or programme to Jim and he noted that whilst he understood this viewpoint they still needed to think comercially on this point as they obviously give a good return, which is fair enough i suppose and at least he was pretty up front about it. Personally i would prefer if they just put the cost onto your ticket price and gave you the times anyway, Belladrum do this yet still selll lanyards by the barrowload as a lot of folks like the part that goes round your neck to use at work or to keep as a souvinier so it definetly works both ways.

aye, you wouldn't buy a gig ticket if you didn't know when it was. i understand that the lanyards are a source of income for the festival, and if they didn't sell them it would mean bumping up the price of something else, but they could release the times online then still sell the lanyards, plenty of people would still buy them.

Jim, If you are out there???

A couple of things:

Are the security guards still going to be told to confiscate food and unopened soft drinks?

Is there going to be any effort to monitor children (under 18's) getting into the site without adult supervision?

Ps Keep up the good work with signing up the acts, but I am always a bit impatient can you share with us when we should hear the next announcement

    • My party again had an outstanding 4 days in Barca. We made the right call to leave the festival site early at about 10.30 on Thursday to get ourselves some excellent steaks in the city. I am with everyone that the organization should have been clearer about what is going on and also if you would like to get rid of some attendees open more exits, they sent us from gate to gate until we finally were able to get out. Biggest 'disappointment' was the beer price, a YoY increase from 5 to 6 is absolutely nuts!!! (i am living in Switzerland so me making this comment says something 🙂)   Top 10:   1. Men I Trust 2. Role Model (could have been first as well, what a great artist and great songs) 3. The XX 4. The cure (the last 90 minutes) 5. Gorillaz 6. MBV 7. Ninajirachi (another big miss of the organization, clearly on the wrong podium and wonder if Olivia's surprise set had something to do with that and they had to reschuffle late the Occident, Cupra and Port schedules) 8. NewDad 9. Big Thief 10. Annastashia      We did 3 years Barca now and for next year looking at the Porto or Bilbao festivals as an option.
    • Personally if it was me now, I would be grabbing a green camping ticket with the knowledge closer when I've refreshed that I can still choose general if I want to....you can't do the opposite!    I would say if you are happy to watch your headliners and big bands further back to be able to see who you actually plan to later then yes it is fine. Its a much difference experience to any other festival especially food wise and camping surrounds.    Once you're in the arena as well you're not going back unless you've got a gap. If I go again I'll be going with the option of not trying to push the front and enjoying further back as you actually put too much pressure on it than the time take away can forget to enjoy other acts.
    • No complaints about the sound. We were like 2nd set of steps facing stage right in like the middle row.
    • On the whole then, yay or nay...I've had a look on festivals united and there's people who seem converted by Rock Im Park, I can imagine it might be different if it was a washout as RaR is tarmac.   The hotel side would be more to convince the non campers if it's an option. On my first visit to rock am ring we were shuttled into the area where you could stick the car next to the tent which was fantastic as it meant zero lugging of camping gear.
