You've bought loads of cool stuff (well Rome, OCS and footie tickets)! No nights out here either since new year and no cool stuff to show for it - a council tax bill and electricity bill instead!

We Were lucky to get use of work footie season tickets today which gave us something to do but other than that we have been really scrimping. Can't wait for payday next Monday. I am going to have a luxury shopping trip at Asda! :P

:P Nice.

Although it's definitely some cool stuff to look forward to I've Glasto to pay off, spending money for Rome as well as accommodation and football over there (going to Roma - AC Milan hopefully), then an MOT (fingers crossed it'll be fine) and saving for the cost of the rest of Glasto... Really I'm going to be skint up until and after Glasto.. :P

I really need to get my finger out and start looking for a higher paid job! :P

It definitely makes it all worth it! :P

I've not really been drinking/going out and packed in the fags 3 months ago and I'm still no better off, how does that work!? :P

I stop on Friday for a week and I'm going to do my best during that week to try and get my finger out, get the CV updated and actually do something about it rather than just moaning! :(

:P Are you me? I stopped smoking a few months ago too! And I've definitely cut back on drinking, especially since Christmas (it's great - just treated myself to a vodka and orange this evening and am feeling nicely relaxed - it used to take a few!). Still got no money though - in fact I'm sure I somehow have less!

That sounds like a plan for your week off. It is always such a pain updating CV's but worth it when you get a job at the end of it! :P

:P

I've said I'd have 4 weeks without a drink (about 7am New Years Day was my last!). I have a ceilidh on the 29th so I'll wait until then to treat myself. :P

I've been putting off updating my CV and looking for a new job but I really need to act now, or else before I know it summer will be here again, it'll disappear in a drunken haze and I'll still be in the same position 12 months down the line!

I've just realised that my ticket for next month's ball at the Venice Carnival costs more than my Glastonbury ticket, and that's for only 7 hours of food and entertainment. January and February are expensive months for me.

Well after all the excitement I was rang by see and they left a message to say the payment was not made and contact them ASAP.

Well a few things going on here at the moment so I waited a couple of days then received a Email saying that if I did not pay the balance within a week my ticket would be cancelled!

So all sorted now though....

I have a bit of a problem paying mine off.

I went last night to the site and when I tried to log my registration number it told me that no deposit had been paid and the ticket had been cancelled...

I have a screen shot of the paid screen from October 4th and a confirmation e-mail they sent that says I have paid. I'll have to go back and look up which credit card I used and verify it was charged...I think I would recall if it wasn't???? But, now I'm quite concerned.

I sent an e-mail to See Tickets and didn't get a response yet.

Calling is problematic, since I'm in California and basically need to call in the middle of the night, or from work...both present challenges as you can guess. I'm going to stay up late tonight and hope they are in the office early so I can reach someone.

I'm pretty worried after making months of plans, buying stuff, etc. It would really suck to find out my ticket was cancelled without any notice, e-mail or contact?

Wish me luck....

JT

    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
    • Hey guys, is there a group going for any solo y not goers this year?? I couldn’t miss out once I saw the acts but it’s just me and would be great to meet some others:))
    • After deciding to abandon the festival, here's a few of my thoughts (mostly negative tbf).    On the positive side - was it just me or were there a few more urinals than last year? Seemed to help the queues at the loos a bit from what i saw. Plus they had at least had some foresight and had a few more covered areas in the VIP areas.    Now on the negatives.  The weather was admittedly pretty crap but it wasn't apocalyptic. How the actual f**k are bits of the main stage falling off in those conditions?  Then the communication was awful, there's a load of people who left the site because they were told by security guards/other personnel that there would be no more acts on the main stage this evening.  You have an app Primavera, use it! Yes, there's a shitload going on I'm sure but communication with the festivalgoers should be one of the top priorities. You failed.    And I'm not usually somebody who buys into the whole "oh this is hugely unsafe and it's lucky people weren't hurt" narrative, but all the above led to movements of people that were genuinely unsafe.  Evacuating Mordor entirely (again... Why???) and then having a horde of people trying to get in because they thought they were going to Massive Attack was insane.  And given a lot of people basically abandoned ship around 10.30pm the crush at both the exit to the festival and the entrance to the Metro was pretty dangerous.   Conditions happen, most people will get that....but the contingencies have to be better.
    • You'd think that something like bad weather was in the basics of festival planning. After the shitshow of Madrid, you'd think they'd learnt their lesson, apparently not...
    • Same. Shower and back out in a taxi!
