GaGa?, Do one! - out of all the pop artists in the world she grinds my gears the most - what a talentless (and I honestly can't believe people on this thread are saying otherwise) crock of shiite!, singing the worst lyrics

"I won't tell you that I love you

Kiss or hug you

Cause I'm bluffin' with my muffin

I'm not lying I'm just stunnin' with my love-glue-gunning

Just like a chick in the casino

Take your bank before I pay you out

I promise this, promise this

Check this hand cause I'm marvelous

with a synthed voice, everything (and I put this above Simon Cowell) that's wrong with music is displayed in this feeble excuse for a celebrity.

Said with love!

Ahh. Well I will give you a breif synopsis on it then:

Someone mentioned Lady GaGa might be playing

I said that shes a talentless bint and that she would get a big crowd anyway because people like a controversial act and they can tell all their buddies that "They were there!!"

People started having a go at me again saying my opinions were wrong and that she has talent- she can play the piano after all!

People started calling me a festival snob because I posted my opinion on an internet forum

More people started criticising her

London Tom then posted a few "songs" from her. They are shit btw.

And here we are now.

Ive now read a full thread to confirm that you dont half talk an absolute load of shite. I notice in this precis you dont mention the bit where she only has success because she rams her story down people's throats - I had absolutely no idea she had a 'past' until you mentioned it.

Is she the greatest talent in the world? No. Has she done some of this year's best pop songs? Undoubtedly yes. Does she deserve a place at Glasto? No more or no less than anyone else. Are you a festival snob with your head up your own arse? Almost certainly so.

Do you still have to camp with your dad?

It wasn't a personal attack. It was making the point that over the past few months you have turned into an arse who just slags off every artist that more than one person has heard of. You have also adopted the persona of 'look at these music references, how cool am I?'. Im simply pointing out why you might not be seen as that cool. There is no need for this sixth form arseyness you've developed of late.

I was talking about the last question you asked. But oh well.

And ok I understand now. And I understand the music references bit too. I just thought that post was a little bit harsh that's all, but now that you've told me in a more calmer way I will try and stop. I am genuinely into those bands, ask any of my mates and they can tell you that. But I can see why it could come across as arsey and trying to be cool, looking back at my most recent posts.

But I am generally a nice guy, as you will probably find out in 6 months time, If I can remember to actually attend the Cider Bus meet :P

I'd welcome her at Glasto again, before last year I thought she was a dick and saw her on the Other Stage by chance. I still do think she is a dick but she put on a great show and was one of the most entertaining artists out of anyone I saw at Glasto last year. Going on entertainment value, why not?

i'd definitely go and see her. can't believe people are saying she has no talent.

i like her because she's unique, she has her own style and it's a nice change from seeing daft pop singers who all look the same.

She's pretty shit realy. Never seen her at Glastonbury, far better things to do. I did get dragged along to see her at T in the Park thou, worst act I've seen for a while. She spent more time changing clothes than 'singing'.

And she was no way playing that piano thing, worst piece of miming I've seen in all my days, simply pathetic.

    • well, we might know by the end of next month if they drop the lineup early again
    • I'm definitely not camping 🙂.  My 17 year old Daughter and her friends are there 3 days and commuting back to Sheffield each day as didn't want to camp .  I am taking and picking up the Saturday so thought I may as well get a ticket as love Fontaines DC - need to do a lot of research on the other acts though to fill my day.    I walked through the camp site other year the day Arctic Monkeys played and it was like a War Zone.  My Son has camped a couple of times but didn't fancy my Daughter staying over.
    • Not at all impressed with Polanski saying "noone should be barred from public life" wrt the Tory neo-nazi. I really don't think "no nazis in politics" should be an excessive standard.
    • Dug into Milkweed some more and this was a brilliant suggestion. Thank you 🙂   This will come as no surprise, but I have been told that there are some band substitutions to come.
    • Yeah, I think it's important to differentiate between a stage that's just a platform for the artist to walk on (which can be assembled fairly quickly and without too much difficulty), and the custom staging that you get in big productions where there's a whole world underneath.   Using the Eras tour as an example the stage extending out into the stadium field has all sorts - lifts that go up or down - down most importantly as this allows performers to enter or to leave the stage as needed. There's passageways to get from one part of the stage to another. There's what are effectively dressing rooms set aside for costume changes. There's spare instruments (and techs to look after them) so if something goes wrong above they can be swapped out in the space of seconds. There's even a track and dolly system running the full length of the stage so that Taylor can be moved from one end to the other faster than she'd be able to walk.   I don't know the specifics of the Madonna tour to the same degree but my understanding is that a lot of the same techniques are used.
