Magic Numbers

Saw Magic Numbers last night at Gloucester Guild Hall. Great gig by the way. I said how much we'd loved their set this year and asked if they were playing next year and Romeo said yes they were playing Glastonbury as well as a number of other festivals.

Great news for any Magic Numbers fans

I saw them play the Pyramid a few years back and they were ace. Not my usual cup of tea but they were just so entertaining - their sheer joy at being there and enthusiasm was contagious. Saw Romeo at another gig a few months after and told him how much I enjoyed it and he was very gracious - what a lovely chap he is!

I only found out they were at Glasto this year after they'd played. Queens Head as well wasn't it? Bet that was Ace. Must admit I do love their stuff but always feels like a guilty pleasure admitting it! The tunes are catchy without being twee and the vocal harmonies are just lush. Glad they'll be back next year and will make a point of seeing the set this time. Just hope it's a smaller venue and not a lower slot on a big stage. The Park would be ideal.

Magic Numbers in the Queens Head was one of the highlights for me this year. I didn't expect such a mellow band to get the crowd jumping in the way they did. Loved it. I'll be looking out for them next year.

I spoke to them after a gig not too long ago and they said they same re: were playing at Glasto at some point.

I would love them to headline The Park.

Top top live band, and the new record sounds like it will be tops too. You can get a new song downloaded for free off their website now...

Lets be honest - their second album was a rush job, and not very good. I think they lost a lot of the goodwill that they had built up after their first album and more importantly their live shows. I think they have always been much better live than on either album.

They've got several stonking songs, and I really hope their new album is a marked improvement consistency wise - they seem like a real genuine bunch, and I wish them well
