I wonder how we could suggest to the Festival that maybe the New Talent comp should start off as a vote type thing?

Could put tracks up online, and have a proper online Talent Comp.

G Factor style....

I dunno, I do quite like the fact that the Glasto comp is based on talent rather than popularity - gives people who are really good but haven't found a big audience yet a chance, unlike the awful 'road to V' nonsense or similar. Of course, if it was just up to the eFests boarders than I think we'd stand a chance :P

Oh and I think one of the final 'play-off' spots is down to a public vote this year so the nation shall have their say.

Indeed it does folks - we got our application in on New Year's Eve as apparently there's another slot up for grabs for 'early bird entries' (at Queen's Head I think) before Dec 31st.

Here is our entry if you lot fancy a gander - it was pretty difficult deciding which 2 tracks to put forward, hope you think we made good choices...

My uni folk-pop band entered but I'm not sure I fancy our chances; our recordings are pretty rough around the edges as none of us really know how to mix them. :P

Thought it was worth a shot anyways.

Can give us a listen here if anyone's interested: http://www.myspace.com/tabloidvivant

The myspace is a bit tatty too - we only made it so we could enter.

Good luck to any of you who entered! xx

I love listening to new music , it does indeed get the old blood flowing and have been listening to the final 12 in the ETC and i have a few faves that must play at Glasto. Check out their Myspace sites. I wish i lived near Pilton so i could get to see these bands play in the finals at the Pilton mens working club.

They are :

Mayhew ( hoping they will win! )

Lets buy Happiness

Family Machine

Ellen and the Escapades

Good luck to you guys, i guess we might even catch some of you in the BBC introduction or Q tents this year.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
