Glastonbury 2009 review from a first-timer

Great review I really enjoyed reading that.

Always good to hear other peoples opinions and reactions to the festival, particularly from someone across the pond, ie a "septic".

I was particularly amused by the reaction you got to entering the site with a suitcase, not necessarily fit purpose but hey you had no choice.

You obviously had a great time, it is hard not to!!!!

Cheers Bort, great blog and one of the best about the festival that I have read. Perhaps it's because you could remember everything - guess the antibiotics were good for something :P:P

Hope you manage to make it back soon.

Loved that! Well written and atmospheric. I like that you talk at length about the details outside of the music/bands inc. pics of your meals & various wanders.. v.nice pics too. even including catching the coach from London and queuing up for the coach to leave!

A great read and great photos.

Very relevant for me as I'm pretty much in the same boat as you were. Flying across the pond for my first in 2010. I've taken a number of tips away and confirmed a couple things I'd planned to do make sense (arriving early, buying a backpack, showing up with cash to avoid ATM's, etc.).

Good stuff!

Thank you!

    • I think it's a conscious decision this year not to publicize it beforehand. Not sure why. Maybe they have even removed the concept of a passport altogether and have something else... I like it because it helps me find parts of the program that don't function as slots in the timetable.
    • Still see Beach House with a new Album    and Tame Impala and The Strokes.
    • Yeah the rumour I heard is Glastonbury + Spurs stadium, the guy who posted it seems to be on the ball most of the time as well.   He's also now put one up for Sam fender summer shows
