wednesday night

There's not really any music on Weds night and Trash City, Arcadia etc. were still closed, but most of the stalls and bars were open.

We set up camp and went for a wander, stopping for a drink and chat with people on the way. It was a really good night with a laid back vibe. Calm before the storm really.

+1 to what others have said.

We actually had a sit down in the Pyramid field as they were testing the lights and such and it was actually really cool. Then we wandered up to the Stone Circle where I preceeded to lose my bag after I wandered off and forgot where I put it.

we had our tea in the Green fields, grabbed a load of cider and then sat on the grass in front of the Pyramid - watching the sun set before ambling off to the stone circle and an early night... well about 2am!

Thursday was great too, anyone else sit on the grass at the Pyramid field as they tested the speakers and such with a bit of Neil Young (think Maximo were playing at the time)? Probably one of my favourite moments from the festival thinking about it sitting there playing some ridiculous drinking game that got us all in the mood for the rest of the weekend.

Such good times

I won't be able to go down on the wednesday next year, have a stupid exam on the Thursday so have to wait until Thursday afternoon to get down there.

Wednesday is a great night for chilling and enjoying the campsite. This year my friends and I went to the top of the Ribbon Tower and looked over the whole site before it all properly kicked off on the Friday, was beautiful.

That's a bit "glass half empty"!

We set off at 5:30am and got parked up 12 hours later. Camp set up by about 7:30 and by 8 it was all forgotten as we were drinking organic mead and chatting to complete strangers. Good times.

Thursday was nuts. We got pissed and sunburnt to hell. I was in the tent, comatose by midnight having been on the sauce for 13 hours straight. Have a great memory of Zane Lowe dropping some Rage Against the Machine in the BBC tent in the Park at about 7:00pm and loads of people inside and out just randomly bouncing about and pogoing like mental patients. Then I broke out the hip flask of Jack Daniels and it all gets a touch hazy......

I love Wednesday !

This is what we usually do

Be at Brothers Bar for 11.00 am opening , then

Walk up past Stone Circle to furthest part of super fence and take the view in

Watch sun go down and site light up from our tents in Big Ground

When its dark our group get ready for the night and go on a very long walk , usually ending

up in bars in The Park till closing time.

Watch sun come up at Stone Cricle !

:P

I love Wednesday.

Normally set up camp, takes a couple of hours then open a can or two of bubbly with a punnet of strawberries to enjoy that wonderful "we're back" feeling before going for a bimble.

Wednesday is a great day to savour the real spirit of Glaso before it turns into another music fest.

    • Saw David Gray 8 times between 2000 and 2025 (including one solo acoustic performance in Wexford, IE, 2017) and he always delivered. I enjoyed every show, never felt bland or let down an iota. To each their own. Yeah, it’s just that he’s not your cup of tea I’m afraid.   Agree that David is a bad dancer though lol.
    • Its massively bonkers the cost now amd it means missing out on some gigs but buying into only promotes it. Im more annoyed at gigs that are cheap that I have to resist as I'm far too tired after work.
    • Yeah I mean first time seeing them sure, I was the same in 2010. Their arena tour got a bit boring, it was like just get on with it. Feeder being in a tent was silly really, there is a difference between being around 4th down on main stage snd then moving that crowd into a tent.
