I saw them at Glastonbury in 08 and then saw them in December that year at Wembley (although they were popular at this point the tickets had gone on sale before the Sex on Fire fame) and enjoyed them both.

However, I've heard they've been pretty shitty this last year or so. I think the last album was alright, but it just wasn't as patch on the others and gained them a shitty fanbase. Give them time off and hopefully they'll come back a bit more humble and a bit more like Aha Shake Heartbreak.

Saying that, I'd still watch them.

Very true. That was an awesome collection of facial hair, and once it was gone they seemed to lose all their powers in a facial-Samson kind of situation.

I'm hoping Fleet Foxes don't go near razors anytime soon...

OK cheers for all your replies!!!!

So the story seems to be there not going to be playing this year, and by the sound of it thats not a bad thing (although I still cant imagine them being rubbish as the 3 times I've seen them they have always been excellent and the crowd was fab). But it was over a year ago when I last seen them and most of these bad stories seem to have come within that time. So maybe they should go live in the hills somewhere grow there beards back for the next few years and come back and rock the socks off Glastonbury after there year off in 2012. Maybe with some new tougher old school rock & roll!!!

Of course loads of people like them, like loads of people like Coldplay, U2 etc. That's why they sell lots of albums/concert tickets. As you'll find with a lot of bands though, especially-and this is key-popular ones, those who don't like them shout loudest.

I miss the nervous, bumbling, beardy Kings

Take the 2004 Second from top Pyramid slot, it was all over the place, but in a good way :(

Hopefully they take a long break, recharge and come back with an album that does not sound so forced. Or at least until Sex on Fire has bloody stopped being played in every club/radio show!!!

I don't hate them as some people seem to. I love them for giving me one of the best debut albums this decade (YY&M). A break would do them the world of good IMO.

    • Yeah f**k knows at this point.   I did a little bit of digging earlier, and it was more 'on the ropes' than categorically not happening, and the reason been that she's asking for all sorts. I think all sorts is more production based stuff rather than the fee. As I keep saying, though, there's a lot of whispers at the moment but very little concrete.
    • Ah they did yes, maybe she asked for a lot more than that. Given for example what harry had at Wembley she could have a big stage that juts right out at BST and get mega money for it for 3 nights. She won't get anywhere near that for Glastonbury
    • They did have a big ramp to the front and sides though. And the phoenix.
    • Somerset live says  Olivia Dean has turned down the chance to headline as she is concentrating on new music next year. Not a very reliable source of course.
    • They didnt move any product things etc for the stones i don't believe who commented recently on how far the crowd is away.
