Blur this year was a big thing and I loved every minute of being in that crowd to enjoy it, but a similar thing by Pulp would just be the stuff of dreams.

Superb list there Rach - I would love the following in any order whatsoever...

Countdown

Underwear

Lipgloss

Help The Aged

Common People

Shes Dead

mishapes

Seconds

Es and Whizz

babies

Disco 2000

Razzamatazz

Dogs Are Everywhere (acoustic version although only probably only a hardcore fan pleaser)

Hang on...

Just realised I cannot compile a sensible list as I would want Pulp to play everything they have ever recorded. lol

They would have to put Something Changed as the 'The Universal' moment.

Heres hoping Jarv, the boys and Candida do a Blur, but I got a empty feeling that it wont happen.

Mr Ploppy

while i see what your getting at, glastonbury have certinly had headliners with much 'less' catalogs. e.g. killers/kings of leon/arctic monkey ectectectect

pulp have headlined before and went down a treat.

a list like this would go down a incredibly, wth everyone, grandads and students included.

do you rememeber the first time?

lipgloss

somthing changed

bad cover virsion

weeds

razzamatazz

this is hardcore

babies

common people

sorted for es and wizz

i love life

disco 2000

pink glove

seductive barry

tv movie

glory days

mile end

mis-shapes

mini temperly

i spy

actually thier list is endless. In my eyes they are on par with blur re: 'catalogs'. if im honest i think theirs well more closet pulp fans then blur ever. :(

I can't really see it myself. But if they did play It could be a hit or a miss, they weren't half as good toward the end but with a few years apart the magic could be found again even if just for one night.

As has been said already I'd still be happy if jarvis just played solo.

Of all these bands reuniting, Pulp is the one I want to see more than any other, and everyone else but them is reuniting, it seems. FML.

God, they need to headline next year...that would be a special treat worthy of the 40th anniversary. Listening to "This Is Hardcore" from their Glasto 98 set right now...tremendous.

Here's a dream setlist for their headlining set:

Pyramid Stage 9:50-midnight:

1. The Fear

2. Sorted For E's & Wizz

3. Underwear

4. Mis-shapes

5. Bad Cover Version

6. Live Bed Show

7. Born to Cry

8. F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E.

9. The Birds in Your Garden

10. Sylvia

11. This Is Hardcore

12. Sunrise

13. Help the Aged

14. Babies

15. Cocaine Socialism

16. Common People

17. Like a Friend

18. Razzmatazz

19. My Legendary Girlfriend

20. I Spy

21. Ciao! (Lush cover featuring duet with special guest Miki Berenyi)

22. Disco 2000

23. Something Changed

Likewise, first saw them about 2 weeks after Butler left. I'd love to see a full band reunion just playing the first 2 albums and their B-sides from around that time. Butler said that he'd rather stick a smashed glass bottle up his balloon knot though*

* I paraphrase, obv

Aw man, you've just reminded me, I wandered past the NME Tent at Leed 2005 when they were on against the Foos on the main stage and there must have been about 20 people in the Tent. It was kinda depressing.

I'd be up for a Tears reunion, as long as they played the Suede b-sides 'Killing Of A Flash Boy' and 'Whipsnade', the B-sides to 'We Are The Pigs'.

I finally got round to buying "We love life" the other day and was blown away by how bloody good it was... The Night that Milly Timperley Died is perhaps my favourite Pulp song ever... such a shame I never got round to seeing them play anything of this record.

I have a theory on Pulp's last 3 records too.

That its 3 parts of the weekend:

Different Class - Saturday night. All the rising and then falling of the night out

This is Hardcore - Late Sat Night / Early Sunday Morning. The fun drops out and things get dark. Reflection turns to dread.

We Love Life - The sunday morning. Recouperation and taking stock of things.

Just my pet theory.

I've asked my friend who knows Jarvis about this (her partner is his current keyboardist) and all she said was there's been talk of it but at the moment it is only a rumour. Obviously this news is rubbish but I've asked her to tell me if there are any further developments!
