I read a couple of the comments earlier today and they are blatantly people who don't venture further than their local pub or do anything more interesting than put the bins out.

For 50 quid you can camp in my backyard with the radio blaring.

You'll have to queue to use the outdoor privy and I'll even turn on the hose pipe to add to the atmosphere, if you like.

My favourite...

My observations:

* I hit the website @ 8:55am, and had my ticket @ 9:10am. Lucky.

* If one can save £50 for the deposit, it's only £10/wk between now and when one needs to cough up for the rest. Not too bad.

* I saw 28 acts in 2007. So that's £6 per act. Not expensive.

* A bit of mud & rain doesn't hurt, unless you're a wuss.

* I've been half a dozen times. It's great. It's really fun.

* Yes, times have moved on since 1970.

* A lot of people posting here are miserable gits.

If Alan Pants thinks that's the most depressing thing to see, he's got no idea of the real world. There is nothing remotely depressing with 50 year olds enjoying themselves. It's great to see people of all ages partying together.

There are a lot more depressing things to see just walking down a normal city street.

Personally I think its a good deal; the idiots get to rant away to the BBC (another national treasure, well used to dealing with complaints from loonies) and we get to go to the festival and experience one of the truly great and unique things to be found in this country.
