Did you abandoned your sack trolley at Glastonbury?

Oh dear ... there appears to be corroborating evidence of said very sad man with microwave ... beginning to look like some peeps obviously are either very gullible or very stupid or perhaps both ;) But noooooo, I'm still having immense difficulty believing this isn't a wind up. No one could possibly be that stupid and reach an age where they could actually get to the festival on their own surely  All we need now is some pix to prove it beyond any reasonable doubt ;) We need pix. Way too good a photo opportunity for someone not have taken at least one !!!!

I know it's a crazy idea, but why not take less!

Less to worry about, less to consume, less to have to take back to the car, less to leave behind when you can't be arsed to take it back to the car.

Year on year, I am amazed at what people take on site with them, horrified at what they leave.

FFS, this year I even followed a guy wheeling in a microwave oven on his sack truck. When I asked him what the plan was, he was under the impression that power points were provided!

Leave your cozy notions of civilization at home, experience some semblance of nature. Who knows, we might even begin to respect the place a bit more. At the very least getting in and out might be a bit easier without having to tip toe through the broken wheels and tires.

We shall not be taking anywere near as much as we took this year, i shall still use the sack truck though but leave the beer at home, also the camping cooker, food, and chairs. I found we left loads of beer behind, never cooked anything and its cheap enough to buy a couple of chairs onsite and leave them behind after. Even with the sacktruck, it was a hard push up from a car park somewere accross the main road and about 4 fields back. So less is better :D:D

I used to be able to take less when I was younger because I was fine to sleep on the floor, stay in wet clothes, crawl in and out of a tiny tent etc.

It's not like that now - but we don't leave anything behind so theres no problem.

I got a fishing trolley about 4 years ago. It looks totally unstable but it's done us just fine. Well - to be fair he pulls it, and it looks quite a struggle but hey - we get there!

I'm on the other side. I push ... she wanders along looking for more things to put on the trolley. Please take your chairs home people - she hates to see things go to waste, but I'm not getting any younger!

Ha ha! best argument against leaving stuff behind yet!!

In my defence I have to say that i do carry a very big and heavy rucksack. As a pairing it works really badly because he keeps wanting to stop and put the weight his down whereas I want to keep going because my weight is stuck on my back! We were really shouting at each other by the time we were getting wristbanded this year!

I took a rather good BNQ sack truck with pnumatic wheels. With all the scavenging we did I had to find another trolley (one for my then gf to carry the rest). I luckily found an identical trolley but yellow in a ditch, it had a sofa on it I think and also a massive bag (must have been a teepee). Unfortunately I couldn't take the big tent of wonders so I just took the sack truck, the person obviously left it because even with several people it would have been a struggle to get it all out. A passing guy helped me to take out the sack truck though.

I was pleasantly amused by the ever building morgue of those Asda blue cool boxes that seemed to be fookin everywhere on the walk back to Gate D on the Monday!

I for one as you know take far too much usually but Ikea Bags are your festival friend and I have seriously cut down on taking shit loads now.

And the trick is never ever to overload the sack trolley!

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
