Jay-Z is more of a 'proper rapper' than Dr Dre - he's more of a producer than a rapper - I don't understand what you mean?

Next year I'd love to see either Public Enemy or Wu Tang Clan there but can't see either of them being that high on a big stage, maybe 3rd or 4th up on Pyramid/JazzWorld headliners.

Eminem is of a similar level to Jay Z right now, although he's a bit of a joke. It would be great to see some of the originals like the Sugarhill Gang, Grandmaster Flash, Public Enemy and NWA but I don't think they'd make pyramid headline status. Now the Beastie Boys on the other hand.... :)

I'd be up for eminem, fo sho.

I didn't get the whole Jay-z issue, didn't hear anyone moaning about q-tip, for example. There has always been a diverse musical culture at glasto, so as far as I'm concerned, if people want to hear them perform there is no reason they shouldn't be there.

Snoop dog would also make a great headliner (although not pyramid, based on him not having a hit in so long, but then again look at neil young, bruce, etc...)

Did anyone see that middle eastern weird band that played on sunday morning?

What i want to know is how they got on the pyramid stage lol..

i dont think one single person knew who they were lol..

so i think that there would be some people who would know Dr dre, Kanye, Sugar hill, beastie boys.. etc :)

I don't think there is a hip hop act that could headline the pyramid at Glasto after Jay-Z, Eminem is just a hip hop Lilly Allen. Dre doing The Chronic would be ace but nowhere near headline status. I saw Public Enemy put on a show late last year that blew my mind it was so good. No way would they be able to headline. If they do play though I recommend watching them, they are incredible.

Did they play on Sunday too? I saw them before EODM on Saturday. I admit it's not my type of music but it was good to hear something a bit different to what I'd normally listen to, and there were quite a few around me who were there for the band and not simply waiting for EODM.

Back on topic, I don't really rate many Rap/Hip Hop acts that are around at the mo. NWA and De La Soul were awesome and the Beastie Boys at Glasto would make me moist, but any of the current crop wouldn't attract me to go and watch. I don't however think they shouldn't be there. It's a festival of performing arts so anything goes IMO.

    • Hezbollah rejected it. Really Israel should get the f**k out, and US and others should support the Lebanese govt in defeating Hezbollah.
